Why do Asian looks for old Wadia CDP at high price?
Perhaps Christiaan can shed some light on the subject: He did.The Wadia 512 which he loved uses old R2R Multibit dacs, the last ones made without going discrete like others are today. Burr-Brown 1704 DACs.Today because Wadia used the ESS Delta Si...
Anyone using a Class D amp w/ribbon tweeters?
I’m not a big fan of Class-D yet, but the best one I heard was the Belcanto M600 monoblocks, and this was driving a two way speaker that had Ravens best ribbon tweeter, and it was I believe because the Raven tweeter was a very benign 8ohm constant...
narrow and wide baffles and imaging
the Stradivari presented a more weighty, unusually solid picture that seemed to be a three-dimensional curtain wrapped behind the baffles and extending well back into virtual space. A friend had the SF Amati’s which were really nice and had a gre...
narrow and wide baffles and imaging
narrow and wide baffles and imagingnarrow baffles are crucial to creating that so-desired pin-point imaging. Yes the narrower the baffle the better, but also a similar thing to image destroying wide baffles is, so many "audiophiles" love to put a...

MAC Autoformers?
was quite pleasantly surprised to see the amp double down from it’s 8 Ohm tap down to 4 Ohms If you don’t change the tap, it doesn’t double at all when the load impedance halves from 8 to 4ohms And you can’t change the trany tap from 8 to 4 half ...
Devialet or Vitus
emerald Devialet or Vitus It seems all the JM Labs Utopia range have quite a difficult impedance and -phase angle loading for an amp in the bass. I’m with respected_ent and would opt for the Vitus amp which is Linear Class-A/B and linear power s...
