Jeff Rowland Design Group George,625 S2 and 725 mono-amps...are they Linear Class-A/B amps? Yes your right they do still make linear only in these two, pity they used smp power supplies with them. Quote:" I suspect that the signal-to-noise measurement could have been tain...
Best tube dampers that you have used I have tried pearl coolers, and ARC silicon rings on both power and small signal tubes. I always end up removing them after listening for a short while. They seem to kill the life and musicality of my tube equipment. This says to me you like ...
Best tube dampers that you have used Forget expensive audiophile tube dampers, use red silicon "O" Rings are the best bang for buck to quieten tube microphonics used two spaced per tube.Choose your size, don’t make them too tight, they "can" dent the glass over time.https://www.ebay....
Preamp for Burmester power amp nibongese OP This would be a good one to try nibongese, if your dacs don’t have volume controls to go direct with, it has 3 different modes of operation, all with zero or minimum gain. It’s all remote controlled with probably the best mechanical ...
Preamp for Burmester power amp kalali1,378 posts08-10-2018 3:09amWhy would anyone design an amplifier with only an 1,880ohm input impedance? It makes very little sense unless they want to force the buyer to (also) purchase their supposedly matching preamp. Just curious. This...
Airist Audio more affordable Discrete R2R Mutibit Dac's from Asia Wow!! that is cheap.Cheers George
Airist Audio more affordable Discrete R2R Mutibit Dac's from Asia I wonder if there is enough room in there for a Lightspeed board. Even better, would have been nice if the designer incorporated a digital domain volume control, with a maximum analog output level switch-ability setting, so then there’s no chance...
Jeff Rowland Design Group They are a good company, in the past from a tech service point of view always able to help me out in Australia with service info. Pity to me now they went head first into Class-D, unless I’m mistaken I don’t even think they make Linear Class-A/B o...
Preamp for Burmester power amp nibongese OP So what do u mean is I just need a DAC with volume control ? Oh yes!!, but your the one who said it, now watch the pro preamp brigade chuck a mental, and put a hex on your first born.If they have volume controls: If not you’ll nee...
Preamp for Burmester power amp From what I found the 113 dac gives out 4V!and the Dac30 is 2.5vAs you can see your 956 only needs .8v into it for full wattage output, so the preamp should be (unity) no gain to get good volume range on the volume control.Cheers George
Preamp for Burmester power amp nibongese With the Burmester 956 Mk II with an input impedance this low. Input Impedance XLR/RCA, 1.88 kΩ / 13.6 kΩ on both xlr and rca. http://www.rutherfordaudio.com/products/burmester-956-mk2-power-amplifier/Make sure you have a solid state p...
Dac Technology Mature? Let's go back to 1948 at Philips a couple of geeks there started it all off.https://ibb.co/fGLL89Cheers George
DECWARE.....ZTPRE anyone have any expeiriance with one ? Finally, to be sure we are looking at the same schematic, I am looking at the one shown on the last page of the manual. Yes I think that’s the one Al pdf you have to rotate it twice, what I see that the cap sees is if the pot is at half way is a ...
CD player just tanked. On the front it does say: CD92 dCS Ring DAC and HDCD. Oh yes this is still a good one even if it doesn’t have the T on the back. Just that if it has the T it has the last best HDCD chip in it the PMD200, instead of the older PMD100.BTW there is a...
Dac Technology Mature? I do believe we're both wrong. From Stereophile: " Philips invented the delta-sigma modulator in the 1960s, and were the first to apply it to CD players in its 1-bit form (switched-capacitor based)."Cheers George |
