ProfI don’t want to turn this thread in to a cable debate.>>>>That’s pretty funny! 😬
Ceramic insulator cone under phono stage shocker!
Fortunately, in the case of the BDR cones, it doesn’t matter which way the tips point. 😬

The force 🔜 of Friction on the stylus in the groove is tangent to the direction toward the center of the record. So the force of friction on the stylus can be thrown out. 🗑

profI’ve recently felt some despair concerning the amount of snake oil in our hobby and the industry, (when audiophiles wonder why we are a source of bemusement and mockery, we need look no further than the farcical high end cable racket). >>...

Next thing you know they’ll be saying static electric charge on CDs comes from a stylus and friction from paper sleeves. 😬

Skating force has nothing to do with friction. It has to do with counter-action the centripetal force, not the force of friction.

Cones act like mechanical diodes, so you always want the points down so the excess energy will exit the system. Points up actually allows more seismic energy to be transmitted to the component 🔝 and less excess energy in the component to escape.
Worst Rock Band Ever !!!!
Groucho liked his cigar, too, but he took it out sometimes.
Paean to a Fuse (and a tip of the hat to Chris Van Haus)
Mystery solved! Wolfman and clearthink are the same person! 🤗I’m giving serious consideration to chucking it all and enrolling in audio engineer school. 😬

Off the top of my head I’d say LAST is wrong. But maybe I’m not as gullible as some folks. Perhaps you didn’t see the comment in the OP,”When I use my Lyra Delos, no static at all.”Case closed.
Miracles in Audio, by luck, by good choices,by design or by tweaking...
I almost forgot, if anyone tries this experiment the idea is to pour the multi-color hard candies out of the box from a height 🔝 of several inches into the shallow bowl so they bounce around a little bit 🔝 🔝 🔝 before they settle down.
