Led Zeppelin-newly remastered
Finally got around to listening to the CDs. They are fabulous... but the real shocker is the DVD that is included with the CDs. Early footage of live performances and a few later ones. And the sound, oh my God!
To cryo or not to cryo
Attempting to gauge results of cryoing cables and such too soon is a risky proposition; it takes about a week for the cables, etc. to recover from the trip to the cooler and simply won't sound quite right until they've had a chance to recover.
What's your favorite remake of a song
Ramones' version of the Stones' song, Out of Time.
Anyone else ever experiment with wet playback?
agree with gaslover.... you cannot go back.
Mapleshade integrated Record COUPLING System
The record between sheets of glass in the oven technique is risky; the temperature must be very low and the record should not be in the oven for more than a few of minutes, otherwise you risk melting it. Experiement with inexpensive records first ...
acoustic system resonators
A Sound Level Meter can determine locations in the room for resonators with better accuracy in many cases than following general instructions or the old "move and listen" technique. YRMV.
Did anyone see the Rolling Stone article?
That's what they said 20 years ago when home theater was coming onto the scene.
Name your favorite sax solo.
Dunno if it's been mentioned: Waiting for a Friend by the Stones, sax solo by Sonny Rollins.
Led Zeppelin-newly remastered
I'll be goddamned, someone finally agreed with me. I'm gonna mark this day down on my calendar. :-)
Amazing James Randi?
Jlambrick - you would lose. :-)
Mercury Living Presence
I do not find the Mercury LPs or CDs to be overly bright, generally speaking, tho' there may be a few exceptions. they will challenge one's system. I like the Classic reissues quite a lot; some are quite remarkable.
Super High Material
TDK (I think it was) introduced high-transparency CD-Rs a few years ago as audiophile grade, not sure if they're still available. Don't recall the material, twasn't polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is not the most transparent material at wavelengths o...
Led Zeppelin-newly remastered
Metralla, but I thought the Page transfers were spectacular. I might not have expressed that quite right. I will be spinning the Mothership CDs this week, but I need to treat them first. :-) Geoff
Led Zeppelin-newly remastered
If the new remasters are better than the Page remasters, I'm down.
ERS Cloth uses
tbg - maybe so... maybe out of the entire house just to be on the safe side....Cheers
