Pass Labs X260.8 Yes, using balanced cables allows for longer runs. 24’ speaker cables would be WAY more expensive than interconnects.
Pass Labs X260.8 Longer balanced cables, as short as possible speaker cables. If you take a look at the manual, this is what Pass recommends, and is usually the consensus.
Returning damaged item to seller.... If it is insured it is on you, the recipient, to start a claim. Shipping a 9lb item isn’t that expensive. What happened to it? Is it DOA? Was it shipped in the original packaging?
Short list of musical subwoofers REL for me too… tried many others, stuck with REL. And this was before Audiogon for me… So no group think.
New 4K TV; how do I best stream audio through older integrated amp HDMI kind of sucks anyway. Hand off issues etc. I hate the interface, but it is what it is. As others have mentioned, your tv will have digital out, possibly coax rca, but probably Toslink. Easy to do. On the converter subject, anyone have a good...
Interconnects matching You might be able to find Shunyata Venoms at that price point used… they would be a great choice.
Does anybody make... Independent volume control, or independent gain? Different things. Doubtful you will find anything with “volume” on each channel.
Stacking pass labs power units?? @chorus the units he is describing are a phono pre and preamp, neither really produces much heat overall. To the OP, it should be ok to stack the power supplies. But keep them away from the other units. I would keep the phono pre as far from e...
House Wiring Does Make a Difference! On my short list of projects for sure…
Would you sell for cash? The Fed is indeed as described. But the system is what it is. 5 hours away is nothing really. If the dude has an employee in your town that he would pick up the amp from, he could do the same with you. Or, meet halfway. No need to complicate things.
Recommend an Entry Level Turntable (And maybe an integrated Amp) The biggest difference is Class A/B amplification for the Hint 6 (Halo is the earlier, but similar model) vs Class D amplification. Do a search on the two if not familiar. With the B&W’s Class A/B would be the better bet IMO synergy wise.
DISCUSSION: "It only comes out at night". Does anyone else have this experience!? Oh, there is no doubt speakers have to warm up. Both the VC and the surround. It is most obvious to me in my Jeep. First thing in the morning my sub seems basically non-existent. After driving for a bit, ambient temps go up, woofer warms up, BIG d...
Recommend an Entry Level Turntable (And maybe an integrated Amp) A 5k budget does an ok job for what you are asking. You could do a Parasound Hint 6, has all the goodies you want, phono stage, DAC etc. Plenty of power to drive your speakers, and throw a Rega Planar 6 in the mix and you will simply blow away wha...
DISCUSSION: "It only comes out at night". Does anyone else have this experience!? The flux capacitors finally fully kicked in after midnight. Without these fully engaged the system is flat and airless. But yeah, I also think it is a bit of a circadian rhythm thing. We are programmed to mellow and calm at night, this opens us ...
Not Sure If This Is OK Here, But Here Goes 3rd party transactions are always suspect. And with something big like Maggies, I wouldn’t take the chance. The problem with Friends and Family mode, which seems fool proof as MC mentioned, is it really isn’t. If the buyer pays F&F with a cred... |
