Buyer Dispute There is a pair of tweeters for the D3s on eBay, right now. Not cheap. Have the seller refund the amount you need to buy them, plus a 10% PITA fee and install them and call it good. There are SO many things that can go wrong if you send those spea...
Another Hegel H390 vs H590 Thread The 390 is an excellent piece, but the 590 just does everything a bit better. The 390 is the sweet spot, but the 590 is worth it IMO over the 390.
Here is my beef I’ve contacted people via Agon with phone numbers etc. A PM will get flagged if there seems to be a side deal being put together to bypass the trade side of Agon. Other than that, it’s usually not an issue. Or do as suggested above and send a numb...
Change it or Defend it, where is your stereo at? I’m where I want to be overall. Still looking at phono stages, but amplification, speakers etc I’m at the end game. To “upgrade” puts me in the rarified air of this game and that’s not a place I can go currently. I’m pretty happy, and so is my wif...
Affordable vs. ultra expensive speakers - what's the difference? Affordable is kind of a silly word. I can afford much more than my daughter can, a good friend of mine can afford much more than I can. Therefore it’s actually ALL affordable. The notion of value is an entirely different thing. If a 3000.00 speake...

SME 30/2 Controller The V damping fluid is a fairly viscus silicone gel stuff (for lack of a better description). It’s really not a big deal to use/install. I had a syringe of it anyway, so it wasn’t any additional cost for me. The only time it can be a pain is if yo...
SME 30/2 Controller The tower gaps as set with the tool provided simply set the upper platform level with an optimal “stretch” on the elastomers of the system. All the fluid in the pots do is help damp any bounce that might occur. This is unlikely as the unit should ...
High End Intergraded comparisons, Marantz, McIntosh, Levinson, Luxman.... You can’t go wrong with the Hegel H390. It really is one of the best out there. It just works. Has a DAC, but yes, no phono stage. I am currently doing my own shoot out between a Gryphon Diablo 120 and Hegel H590. Not sure just yet which one wins....
SME 20/2 Spindle/bearing Why do you want to do that job? The SME spindle and bearing are kind of a one and done. Did yours get contaminated in some way? Personally I would stick to the SME oil if you choose to move forward.

Slow used market right now? Yeah, things are fairly robust if priced right. The hard part, is finding the right price. They do seem to be a bit all over the place. Generally, the “known” brands tend to sell pretty regularly, where the esoteric brands usually sit for a time.
System bias Accuracy can only reveal the realty of what the recording is. If the recording is great, most likely the system will shine. If it sucks, it will probably sound pretty bad too.
Am I a hopeless audio snob? Simple reality, form factor matters. It just does. So not a snob, you just don’t get a “wow” from that setup. No worries. Buy what you like both aesthetically and sonically.
