Why not underhung voice coil? Perhaps a symptom of dosing themselves with hydroxychloroquine.B
Recommended Speaker List for Atma-Sphere OTL Amplifiers. Ha, Just got another email deleting my post.It seems mentioning tubes from certain countries causes the moderators to delete a post.Of course, no direct reason given.B
I recently purchased a used BLUESOUND Vault V500 Sorry to hear Bluesound didn't respond. They used to answer the phone. If the unit didn't power up, I would see if I could return it. It sound like it might be defective or at least the power supply.B
Recommended Speaker List for Atma-Sphere OTL Amplifiers. @OP, Just a side note one of the reason's I bought them is because of your continued support in the audio world and to us the customers (even buying used) its rather nice to see in this day and age. Thank you. Funny you should mention this, but...
Recommended Speaker List for Atma-Sphere OTL Amplifiers. My comment got deleted. All I did was mention Chinese/Russian tubes that are installed in the Atma products. How does that offend anyone/break the Audiogon rules?B
Tube preamps, basic design parameters @OP, Well, you post got the attention of one of the best/nicest designers of stereo equipment. And, though he is too classy to boast his products, I will. In fact, I was in the same situation as you are, a few years ago. From the advice of Ralph (A...
50 foot cables? @OP, You might get lucky searching Ebay for used cables.25 feet is long, but I scored a set of AQ Rockefeller cables a while ago. They were the real deal and AQ cut them down and had them reterminated when I moved to monoblocks. Also, check Hifi Sha...
50 foot cables? That is a very long distance, if you are asking about speaker cables.Especially so when wanting something good for under $500.Given the extreme distance, I recommend Audioquest cables with the DBS. Unfortunately, I doubt you will score a pair used...
An unusual problem Perhaps a Townshend isolation platform for your subs would be a way to go.I own a lot of their products and can attest to their efficacy in isolating vibrations. They also work great on isolating components- resulting in a much cleaner sound.Bob
Choosing between floorstanding speakers. For floor standers the Vandy 1's, especially coupled with subs is a good move.Though I would suggest looking at the VLR's, as well. They are bookshelf speakers but, like the 1's, when coupled with subs, are an unbelievable speaker. I heard them wi...
UPS for Music Server @almarg ,Great Post! I have to try that the next time I have issues. NOT for the faint hearted. Though I am sure Aurender will consider me a pariah (certainly not Murray).😏Bob
UPS for Music Server @cleeds ,Yes, you have.I had to send my N100 back to Aurender because one of the drives corrupted.$180 bucks. Not terrible. But, I could have done it myself if I had the ability to reinstall the software.Bob
Atmasphere mp1 mk3.3 with phono I think you should PM Audiogon member Pstores. He has a lot of firsthand info on Atma's.Of course, calling Ralph(-Atmasphere) directly would provide the most accurate info. When I had Ralph build my MP-1, I had them install V Caps (as per Pstores a...
Considering A SS amplifier @decooney .You have made some very good points.B
How many people wish they could maintain and/or service/modify their own tube equipment? I, like you, have no idea of what would need to be fixed, so I send all my tube stuff (and SS stuff) to Ralph Karsten at Atma-Sphere.He knows his stuff and his recent work of finding the source of a buzz was priced so low, I can't believe it was w... |
