Help me with the upgrade path
I agree, AppleTV is probably your weakest link. But, I must ask, are you noticing anything lacking in your sound reproduction that is making you consider an upgrade?
Did I buy a counterfeit REL T5/i sub??
Hey OP, did you get an answer from Rel?
Question for sub woofer users
I concur with the above. After a set up period, you should have things dialed in. As far as a sub for the quads, I would recommend a Vandersteen sub.
Did I buy a counterfeit REL T5/i sub??
OP- have you connected them to your system? Do you notice any difference sound-wise/operation-wise?Though the opportunity for counterfeiting exists, I think there are better choices for it. Why make a heavy object when there are more profitable ve...

Perhaps they are sub-human?

Did I buy a counterfeit REL T5/i sub??
Why not contact Rel and ask them if they changed logo placement?Counterfeiting subs wouldn't be a very profitable venture, so I doubt it is.Also, are the serial numbers very different for one another?-that would be another clue.
Should I really, really buy a Berkeley Reference DAC...Testify!

I am a Vandy nut for many decades. For a room that size, I would go for the Quattro, though you would/should get a better amp, too.Otherwise, a more efficient speaker like Zu would be a way to go.
Finally stepping into the hobby after 30 years of watching from the sidelines

Putting together a system...looking for some suggestions
Erik makes some great points. As I have said before to posters like yourself, you should put in some time going to local dealers and get a sense of what you like/dislike. I understand your trepidation that you won't  'accurately remember what they...
Dual subs and room size
I have a pair of Hsu subs with EQ, and my office is smaller than the OP's room.I think erik is correct, the OP would probably be very satisfied with only one sub.
help me with a DAC decision please
I ended up going with Schiit Dac's. Their Multibit dac's perform admirably and hold their own with much higher priced competitors. They also have a 15 day trial period.
