Boulder monoblock 2150
Bdp24, I hate to say Mozart makes great dinner music, at least for me.Though I think the problem now is that music and music theory haven't been taught for decades. The sonata form has finally been supplanted by rap/hip hop. It really is a new era...
100 - 125.00 RCA, and coax recommendations please
Regarding cables, I just remembered another supplier:http://www.cs1.net/products/cables.htmSimple cables at a fair price, you can always upgrade later.+1 tls, I agree vertical biamping/monoblocks is the way to go. You are going down a slippery slo...
100 - 125.00 RCA, and coax recommendations please
+1 mgreen.I suggest you get things set up and listen, let it all break in. Then consider all the alternatives. For inexpensive cables, I have gone to Zu Audio. They do what they should with little coloration. For me, spending a lot on cables is sil...
Best of both worlds, Vandersteen and B&W
A pair of Vandy subs should give you what you need. I ran the 3a sigs with a pair of 2w subs, even without 'q', it was amazing. Can you tell us what your other equipment is? It may help in diagnosing your 'anemic' sound.I just bought a pair of Treo...

You're right Tomic.
Fidelizer and JPlay
Has anyone used Jplay with ClassicsOnline? And is anyone using the 2 pc set up? Can you connect to more than 2 pc's?I am currently using Airfoil to play music over wifi to 2pc's. I am wonering if this is better sound quality-wise.
Bookshelf Speaker Recommendations
There are the Zu Omen Bookshelf speakers. They even have a trial period if you buy them from Zu. A nice price, too.I use them for my office, now that they are broken in, I really like the sound- And this is from a Vandy guy.Bob
Cutting below 80 HZ on my mains, so subwoofers handle deep bass?
A lot depends on the speaker's crossover as well as the drivers.I think overlapping the frequencies, as pts suggests, will result in less accurate reproduction.
How does high-pass filter requirement affect system decisions?
Randyhat, Vandersteen recommends 40-200wpc for the Quatro's, so 75 should be in the sweet spot-especially if you are high passing to the subs.I think one of the nice things about Vandy's is that they play well with a lot of equipment.I am in trans...
Recommend a SS amp for my new Vandersteen Quatro CT
Nycjlee, that sounds like a killer setup. I'd love to listen to it. Is Johnny setting it up for you?

Nah, there is a substance called 'liquid smoke'. The seeds germinated well. The hard part is overwintering in the NE USA.If your subs are as invisible as mine, I don't doubt your cat will be very comfortable. Those low low frequencies must lull hi...

IMHO, you shouldn't trouble yourself wondering ' how much I may be missing compared to some of the new models'. You'll end up chasing a shadow.I say get your Quatro's and break them in slowly and gently. There will always be something to upgrade ...

Yes, the 2wq's should be invisible and those serial numbers aren't too far apart.I haven't been to your part of the world due to political views, but now that that has been rectified, perhaps soon- I'll bring those crossovers, too.(I have been try...
