Is the Maestro AC outlet basically a cryo'd Cooper BR20 found at Lowes for $3.47?
Jtubes, I'm finally satisfied my SR Black has broken in completely. I'm pleased with the unit, but less euphoric about it for perhaps the same reason you mentioned: the treble. It's very good and clear, but it was most "brilliant" on the first day...
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
And now, try the Black!!! Great in every application except for a PS audio regenerator, especially the older P300, P600 ones. They tend to like the SR Red. See my thread with Jtubes2 on Synergistics Black fuses and Black outlets. And both of us ha...
is it ok to leave a tube amp on without speakers connected
NO. NO NO NO NO NO. Had a pari of VTLs without my WATTS attached. Scared the color off me (I'm Hershey Brown colored). NO!!!!
Cheater plug safety
I haven't read all the posts, but I've been lifting grounds for 35 years, and have not had a problem. From what I was taught (in High End audio), the ground should be at the preamp, and you lift the ground at other places. The thing is, all cheate...
I NEED AN AMP!! BUT WHAT?? HELP PLEASE!!
I'll second (and third) the Khartago as I've had one. ZERO grain (like 25 speed Kodachrome film, meaning "better than anything YOU got" as we would say to other fellow photographers). The Khartago avoids, as JV said in his TAS review, any sense of...
Power conditioner help
I would not use a Transparent conditioner, given my dealer has one. I don't hear the great crescendos that live music presents, and I've had their Ultra speaker cable (from 1994), then their Reference speaker cable ('96) them the MM1 2004 and MM2 ...
Is the Maestro AC outlet basically a cryo'd Cooper BR20 found at Lowes for $3.47?
I’ve noticed that the Black’s "brilliance" is very slightly less in evidence the last 5 days or so, so that the dueling guitars in the break of "Summertime" seem to be less transiently sharp, but there’s a caveat to that: I put a Shunyata Sigma an...
Is the Maestro AC outlet basically a cryo'd Cooper BR20 found at Lowes for $3.47?
Jtubes, which direction do you have the Red dust facing in your P300? With the writing on the fuse going left to right (the way you read a sentence), or the writing going right to left? I have my P300 on Stillpoints Ultra Mini Risers, which works ...
Is the Maestro AC outlet basically a cryo'd Cooper BR20 found at Lowes for $3.47?
Jtubes, incidentally - and I meant to say this earlier - I also use a SR Red fuse in the P300. I bought a Black fuse, but actually didn’t like it in that application. it’s interesting we both use the Red in the P300, or at least that’s what I thou...
Is the Maestro AC outlet basically a cryo'd Cooper BR20 found at Lowes for $3.47?
Jim:That’s intriguing, but let me think that over. I am not sure that I want to pull the outlet out, as it’s in a tight place with a bookcase in front of it. And if I decide to do it, no need for you to get the outlet: Lowe’s is nearby and it woul...
Is the Maestro AC outlet basically a cryo'd Cooper BR20 found at Lowes for $3.47?
Justubes2, that’s great how you’ve arranged units. I did the same thing in my PS Audio: however, it had the Teslaplex SE and an FIM outlet. I couldn’t get both units to fit in there: the Furutech is larger than a standard outlet. So, I could put i...
Is the Maestro AC outlet basically a cryo'd Cooper BR20 found at Lowes for $3.47?
Justubes, thanks for the observations. I'll have to listen to everything plugged in to the Shunyata line distributor - and all on one outlet -  to determine what's responsible for the sound I'm getting. Do you have both of these in your system now...
Is the Maestro AC outlet basically a cryo'd Cooper BR20 found at Lowes for $3.47?
I’ve had the Synergistic UEF Black in the system for a week.Let me get the questions posed out of the way. Yes, it looks like the Pass Seymour outlet.I did not do the magnet test: I had put it in immediately after it arrived. However, I wrote Syne...
Manley Jumbo Shrimp upgrade
You  might, w_g, want to look at some other threads, where the person measured the fuse's output (I have no idea what thread it's on) and found that he could determine the correct direction. And while your experience is unique to you, it's absurd t...
Is the Maestro AC outlet basically a cryo'd Cooper BR20 found at Lowes for $3.47?
In my experience, the Maestro, while a very good outlet, lacks the dynamic vigor it should. It seems not to have a very dynamic upper midrange/lower treble range, which gives it a "polite" sound in comparison to either Synergistic’s Tesla SE or Fu...
