Vintage tube sound from a modern amp
I’ll stick with this vintage beauty I’ve owned for 25 years. It’s going back to VAC for the MkIII S update in January 2023. It’s has worked flawlessly all these years.
Which power cords have high resolutions and separation??
@timetraveler66 I just don’t understand the purpose of your argument. Since the discussion encoumpases participants that choose to spend their money making improvements that they have found to be beneficial to them. Why is it so important for yo...
Has anyone compared the Dinafrips Terminator II to the Terminator +?
@lak How do I contact him? (I found his reviews on line and THAT helped.) I guess it is just a matter of is the $2500 worth that small step in refinement, that is ups to me to decide. The Terminator II is no slouch.
What are the big attractions at Capital Audiofest coming up this Friday?
Go to the VAC/Von Schweikert Audio room.

@jeffseight   I have a Venus II/Hermes combination.
Room correction room system vs ears….
I have not used it yet, but I have a Mini DSP Studio SHD which is a DSP unit using Dirac Live, it is placed between digital front ends and the DAC. I have already got a large amount of room treatments and bass absorbers I made myself in the room. ...
What is the forums opinion of SVS subs?
If you are considering the SVS line another brand that gets little attention but are as good or better than SVS is Arendal Sound for the same money. The 1723 series subs are very good.
Anything close to Hegel H360 but smaller/lighter?
Jeff Rowland Model 125 and a Schiit pre amp.
Room correction room system vs ears….
Mini DSP Studio SHD is one idea.
Wireworld Electra 7
@jafant  I have not had my system in operation since late July when my pre amp needed service, I just got it back but I am in Florida for a while. Will be bringing it back home with me for the Thanksgiving to Christmas holiday season. I will get t...
Focal Sopra 2 or Sopra 3?
@ozzy My Tritons are out almost 7 feet, (6.87’) Which is about 1/3 into the room. I too like a deep and wide 3D soundstage. That’s what my amp excels at, holographic sound. But I still get outstanding bass. I used some free calculators I found on...
Focal Sopra 2 or Sopra 3?
It's kinda disheartening to hear that a set of subs is required with them. (Sopra 2) A pair of REL 812's would be $6K.  My Triton 1.r's really don't need them at all. They are actually really good speakers especially with my particular amp. Sandy ...
VAC preamps - too expensive?
I had the chance to meet Kevin Hayes today when I visited their shop in Sarasota. I also spoke with  his tech Brent who built my amp and serviced my pre amp, quite nice fellows. Very personable to me. We talked about tubes, my gear and the fact th...
VAC preamps - too expensive?
I have owned my VAC Cla 1 MK II for 20 years. Back then I believed to get to the end game faster, so I did. I pick it up this week after getting it upgraded to Mk III status so I am now set for the rest of my lifetime for a pre amp. I also have th...
Focal Sopra No 3 vs Goldenear Triton One.R
FWIW I have been driving my GE Trition R 1.r's with a VAC Renaissance 70/70 amp and they sing with it. They are everything my old Genesis Model V's were and more.
