Vandersteen Model 7: has anyone heard?
"Any manufacturer who insists that his speaker is right and all others are wrong is a manufacturer who should have his ears, if not his head, examined."This sounds like a very strong point. I just wish it wasclarified, to be easily understood.
What`s your fave Audiophile Chill Out recording?
Jen Warnes: The Well, I think it's the Cisco 180 gram.Superlative recording, and love her voice.
Please simplify Disc Doctor Cleaner w/ VPI 16.5
*I prefer to wash it manually using a dd brush, rinse manually using another dd brush, and only then put it on the vpi; that is, using the vpi only for final rinse or two with vacuum.**Thanks, I was mainly trying to get an idea what the general pr...
Please simplify Disc Doctor Cleaner w/ VPI 16.5
Thanks ! I did buy two DD brushes, one to apply the Miracle cleaner, and the other to apply the rinse H20. I plan to label ea. Brush, So I don't mix them up. As I mentioned, I did get the extra VPI Vac wand + extra strips to replace the older felt...
best position of components in relation to spkers?
It sounds like the opinions are pretty strong in favor of moving gear out from between your speakers. A potential negative of course, is going to a real long RCA cable to do this. I don't want to sidetrack the thread w/ this, as we have all either...
Cowboy Junkies: Trinity Sessions on Vinyl
Mnmark, great to hear you had a positive experience as well.Sibelius, Thanks for the reco on White off Earth Now. I ordered it from Acoustic Sounds yesterday. I also ordered a bunch of Disc Doctor stuff. The whole kit w/ brushes/xtra pads for my 1...
Cowboy Junkies: Trinity Sessions on Vinyl
Thanks Notec, I was a bit apprehensive about buying on Amazon.Especially an album north of $100.00. I was unfamiliar w/ the process, and never chose the expedited shipping option. I waited it out through media mail for at least one week. There was...
12 inch Graham Phantom
Don't just go in there again ,and use your own arm. Make it nice ! Perhaps a lit candle, to shine on your rack. I believe Onzow makes an excellent gel, always ready when you are. George Carlin, you are missed.
Cowboy Junkies: Trinity Sessions on Vinyl
I received my 45 rpm TS, and listened to it last night. Just a great performance, but the sound of this Classic 45 rpm is really special. I am right with Has2be and Jtinn on this one. If you really like this performance, try and get your hands on ...
Goat Hair Brush
The MFSL brushes have the felt type pad, and I believe they are advertised as a wet/dry brush. I use mine wet to apply MFSL cleaning fluid to clean on the VPI 16.5....
Conrad Johnson MV60SE or VTL ST- 150
Don't discount a nice used pair of Premier 12's. They are very good. I had the 8A's, so I am familiar w/ their sound.I have seen them for as low as 3K here. CJ has excellent customer service to boot.
Lp's you'd like to see remastered
I don't know if it would necessarily be remastered, but more Eva Cassidy on vinyl. Tell me Eva fans wouldn't plunk down $50for Live at Blues Alley on 45rpm.
Cowboy Junkies: Trinity Sessions on Vinyl
I just grabbed the Classic 45 rpm off Amazon for $109. Thanks again, it should be here in 4-14 days. This comes in second for the most I have ever spent on vinyl. What was my previous, for those curious. A Japanese PF: The Wall for $200.00, follow...
Well recorded records ... what are your picks?
Men at Work: Business as Usual. Nothing fancy, just $6.00 at my local record shop. After that I played James Taylor: Sweet Baby James on Warner Green label. Sounded pretty awesome too.
Wilson Sophia 1's vs 2's
"Congrats on the Wilson 8s. Are these a lot better than the Sophia 2s " I believe Samhar had the Sophia mk. 1's.
