need turntable setup recommendation in New England I don't believe Jim Fuller is there anymore, but Goodwins is a very reputable shop. Jim did a setup for me there years ago. Two guys who know their stuff are Mike Trei, out of NY City area, and Jim Fuller. Jim's business is Restoration Audio, out ...
Going to NYC from the outback of Oregon. Again... ILS no longer sells vinyl. Definitely some great food in NY. Gramercy Tavern Bar area is very good. For pizza, I like Motorino. For Jazz LP's, try the Jazz record center.

Harbeth P3ESR Anniversary edition. Worth the Upgrade? Wow- very nice valinar...Why do I feel this thread is going to cost me money (-: My second system consists of the following. Harbeth P3ESR Anniversary edition. Worth the Upgrade? If you read in to that review, or what I took from it was.... The Anniv edition was only marginally better. At one point, he could barely distinguish a difference. On the other hand, after putting them on the TON TRAGER stands, he wanted to put th...
could use some good advice on turntables.. Clearaudio would be from Germany. I would consider a Well Tempered base model, called The Simplex. I'm a happy owner of the model above, which is Amadeus. Seems tweeky, but really becomes second nature. No lift Q lever, so if that's important look...

Anyone Using Harbeths with Grilles off? Harbeth also recommends just about any amp over 50 watts. I'm sorry...that's not flying with me. Just saying (-: Back on subject...I enjoy my P3's with Grills on, and don't want to mess with them. Cheers -Don
Drink of choice for serious listening? Today Bundaberg Australian Ginger Beer, Bulleit Bourben, twist lemon!
Whats the FATTEST sounding Tube amp to warm up Lean speakers? Any of the CJ Premier series... 8 or 12 mono, the 11 Stereo.... I miss my 8A's, although my back feels otherwise. If it were me, I'd go with the one that will drive your speaker. A bit off subject, but the Premier 16 is also a little honey.
Specific to CROFT phono users Agree with your point that nothing in the chain can make that back. I am willing to sacrifice some detail. I have the Harbeth P3's are in a smaller square shape room, around 11 X11 feet... I'm willing to sacrifice some openness and detail for war...
Specific to CROFT phono users noromance- You're 100% correct...I have indeed been on the fence on this. I have been afforded the luxury of listening to the Charisma 103 with my Homage Step Up, but the hope is to no longer need to do that. With regard the the Tubes, I bought th...
Best vinyl purchases based on pressing, studio production, sound quality and enjoyment. Oops- My bad. I meant to say The Yes Album, not Close to the Edge. The Yes Album is my favorite from Yes, but I'm happy with my early press.I need to revisit FRAGILE, because I've acquired the Hoffman pressing, and need to compare to my Early US d...
Best vinyl purchases based on pressing, studio production, sound quality and enjoyment. Funny that you bring up the FRIDAY MUSIC GBMB Slaw... I always hesitate because of their spotty rep, but yet there are titles I've heard others say are great. The 45 rpm Close to the Edge comes to mind. I do have the Friday version of America: T... |
