Anyone else uncomfortable with PayPal’s payment process?
Paypal has never asked for my password, been using them since 2000. Lots of scams out there and paypal is a favorite. When I did use them, got checks sent to me.
Preamp/interconnects cause amp problems?
Sounds like for sure the power amp. The best way to troubleshoot problems like this is with freeze spray. Your tech should be aware of this technique. I have found failing pre-driver or driver transistors were the cause in some amps.
Preamp/interconnects cause amp problems?
What model amp is this? Was everything OFF, not standby, that is connected to the amp when popping started? When you turn the amp off and then on again, has the preamp been on the whole time?
Matching components?
Matching is only for appearance. Has little to do with SQ unless you are talking impedance matching.
Streaming an aid to enjoyment
For me, I only stream when I'm lazy. I get into the music more when the SQ is excellent.
6.5 vs 8 vs 10 woofer
Okay here’s may take, don’t be mean. I agree that an 8” driver is just about ideal for most music, vocals and instruments. But you do need a couple subwoofers to fill out the bottom end. I have found single full range coaxial drivers sound best to...

What's the deal with Ebay and Paypal these days?
I won't sell on ebay anymore due to the checking account requirement. Other sites have proved to be better overall for selling. Goodbye ebay...
Sending a 110 lb amp to the manufacturer for cleaning/calibration. Good idea? How to ship?
If you're servicing the amp, change the electrolytics. If you're not servicing, why open and change caps? Makes no sense for a 5 channel amp! Save your money and buy some separates. Amplifier, preamp along with a surround sound processor if that's...
Has anyone heard of Sankyo cassette decks?
Yes, but the electronics is what makes them sooo good! The mechanical parts are very hard to find. Is the Sankyo a 3 head deck?
Has anyone heard of Sankyo cassette decks?
Don't really know much about Sankyo decks, but they did make mechanisms for Nakamichi. The only cassette decks I would consider have 3 heads. If it has 3 heads and it sounds good, I would consider it. I just saw a working Nakamichi Dragon sell for...
This is the list of the best makers of audio equipment. Respond if you disagree
OP I apologize. I kind of thought you were kidding, since I agree with you about Sansui, Marantz and Nakamichi. I have learned allot on this forum, don't get discouraged.
DIY phono interconnect -- need some advice
If we're talking phono cables, silver over copper or silver (fragile) all the way. Depends how bright you want it to sound. Connex is a great connector for the money. I personally like gold plated, I've also had silver plated rca's.
Fuzzy white noise sound coming from tweeter?
You need a new amp or preamp.
