Power Cable in White
Build your own with components from Cable Co or a similar source. You can encase the cable in white sheathing from Amazon like I did. Use shrink tubing on the ends where the sheathing and cable attach to the plugs.
Premium Power Cable Survey: The Results Are IN
Interesting survey. I did not take it since I built my own cables a couple of years back. I was able to make custom lengths to my power controller. I used quality components from Furutech. It was a fun project.
Cartridge Advice Please
I have the Ortofon Cadenza Black on my VPI HW40 and love the results. I bought another Cadenza Black as a backup.
Wayne's Audio Turntable Periphery Stabilizing Outer Ring
You might try to borrow one before purchasing if it is an option.
Wayne's Audio Turntable Periphery Stabilizing Outer Ring
FWIW my VPI turntable came with a periphery ring and I have yet to use it. I am nervous about my cartridge getting accidentally hung up on it by my inattention. I run a fairly expensive cartridge so I will live with any warped albums. Luckily so f...
Sold a component and bought it back, am I nuts?
@audioguy85  Obviously you have a problem...the first stage on the road to recovery is admitting you have a problem. Actually everyone here has a problem...!😂
Tidal class-action
Boy am I glad I never delved into streaming and at 74 probably will not. I got back into vinyl during the pandemic and am really enjoying looking for some of my favorite albums used.
Stereo or monoblocks
I started out with the Mc462 and then went with the C2700 pre and 611 mono blocks. Will never go back. Yes it is expensive but when the boss says it is ok, you do what the boss says...!
un-becoming an audiophile
@bigtwin  I built the rack myself. It is butcher block shelving and black iron pipe. The pipe goes through the butcher block with a 1.5 inch piece of pipe that threads into each of the connectors. Most everything was sourced from Home Depot or th...
un-becoming an audiophile
@bigtwin  I totally agree with your perspective. An Audiophile does not need to have a lot of technical knowledge and I do not. Like you I read some threads and have no clue what is being discussed. I have a great system and get lost in the music...
Does Hearing Loss Disqualify Me from Audiophiledom?
I have had tinnitus at a pretty high level for years. I have worn hearing aids or about 15 years. My current ones can be adjusted through my iPhone is needed. Listening to a great album pretty much makes me forget about the tinnitus.
Solid copper or stranded copper for speaker cables? What is your choice and why?
I have Morrow Audio speaker cables which are multiple strands and the ones I have are 1500 strands per cable.
How do you find time to enjoy your $$$ speakers and system?
I am retired so I have no excuses for not using my system. Every day at 5:00 I enjoy a cup of tea and listen to albums. The wife like my taste in music so all is good. My taste are usually New Age acoustic guitar or piano. Also as much Eva Cassidy...
FAVORITE POWER CABLE under $100 (1M)
I built all of my power cables with Furutech components. Built to custom lengths for each unit. It was a un project.
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
Steppenwolf back in the 60's was the loudest concert I had ever been to.  I'm 74 now and have had pretty severe tinnitus since the 80's. I attribute a lot of it to firing weapons in the army back in the late 60's and early 70's. I have worn hearin...
