DIY PCs I made my own PCs with Furutec components from Cable Co. I bought heat shrink tubing and cable covering from Amazon. I was able to make custom lengths for my five cables. Good luck.
Getting into Stevie Ray Vaughn And If you ever get to Austin, there is a really cool statue of Stevie Ray down on Town Lake or "Lady Bird Lake" near the 1st street bridge. I was born in Austin and he was an icon back in the 80's. It was a really sad day when he died. I often wa...

Build a wooden crate or use a cardboard box for Amplifier. Contact Krell and ak if they will sell you a packing box for your units. A lot of manufacturers will do this. I know McIntosh does. You would pay for the boxes but they are designed for your particular units. FWIW

Considering an integrated jutish you are brave for mentioning McIntosh. I agree the MA5300 is a great amp and I had one. Most folks around here do not care for Mc but I do and own a great setup with separates.
Ignored Offers Over a year ago I made a very reasonable offer on a Mc amp and never got a response. The amp is still for sale. I would be nice to at least get a "no thanks" or a counteroffer.

Where are the young audiophiles? I have two nephews in their twenties that are into vinyl so all is not lost. Their mother buys them 70's albums all the time.
What Is The Most Romantic Song That You Have Ever Listen To? If you don't mind no words but just music, then try Beauty of Love by Shardad. It is a very compelling cd especially "Connies Butterfly"
CHALLENGE: Best speakers for playing 1812 Overture by Eric Kunzel with real CANON at 92+dB I have both the cd and vinyl. the vinyl is hard on the cart and tonearm as it will jump out of the groove during the canon shots.
Power cable education needed FWIW I built my own PC's with Furutec components from CableCo. I was able to make custom lengths and they all hook into my power controller. Are they better than the ones provided? Yes. Are they better than a lot of the custom ones for sale? Who ...
Do you have ways to ease use of vinyl? Like hobo1452, I sold my vinyl over 30 years ago or rather traded them all in for cd's. About a year ago I decided to get back into vinyl. I had already built a rack and there was this very convenient place on top for a turntable. Of course that l...
Lessons learned about packing for shipment "Shark fin" I remember when my McIntosh speakers arrived on a pallet the dealer had strapped a small box well packed right on top of one of the speakers. McIntosh packs their equipment very well especially heavy speakers (200 lbs) for the pair. I ... |
