DIY Active Ground Box
Just cut the ends off the offending wire(s).  Problem solved.  Too much effort and no real improvement if you go through all this nonsense.

Placement of Single Subwoofer Affecting Sound of Main Speakers
If you only have three (?) locations for the sub that "work" (WAF at work here?) but none of them really work, get rid of the sub unless you're willing to find the actual optimum position for the sub sonically.  Placement in the wrong position in ...
How much “suspension of disbelief do you need?”
Well, actually I HAVE had a 30-piece concert band, along with 45 audience members, in my living/family room, thanks to an open floor plan and 12-foot ceilings.  Trust me, it can get loud.  Plus having permanent tinnitus from playing in big bands f...
Thiel Cs 2.3 with neodium Tweeter of CS 2.4
Cut your losses and get some new speakers, preferably from a brand that is still in business.
Can one have too many tube components in a system?
Only if you have to strip down to your undershorts and turn on a fan to stay in the same room with them during the winter...
turntable for daughter
+1 on entry-level Rega (P1 or P2).  Manual will teach her more about vinyl and stylus handling than will an automatic.
China built tube amps
May first tubey was a Stereo 70.  Got it for $4.  Must've been worth at least $5.  Think I must've either given it away or thrown it in the trash when I was done with it.  Many moons ago.
Kef LS50s - great like me but need to come up for air
7 feet IS near field (unless you're comparing to wearing headphones)!  +1 for Heresy.
Suggestions for an integrated upgrade please
Luxman (various models), especially if you're looking to buy used.  Should be several within your budget.
Who uses ADS Speakers
Had L710s for a few years (late 70's I think).  Moved on from there to satellite/subs.
How much of High End Audio is Horn Speakers?
Have had Rectilinear, Visonik, ADS, Maggies, Thiels, Acoustat, M&K, Salk (still have these), and probably a few others I've forgotten, and have no complaints on running Forte IV's in my main (of 3) system.
Recommendations Wanted
One thing that would help the respondents is to know what it is in your current speakers/system you define as deficient.  Without that, we're shooting in the dark with respect to recommendations.  (In general, though, 40wpc is pretty weak for most...
Subwoofer for music, how low?
+1 for REL.  Start with one and see where it takes you.  Too many here trying to persuade you to join their swarm club without knowing what one good sub will do in your specific listening room.
Efficient speaker: Zu, Tekton, Volti, Klipsch, Fleetwood?
+1 on La Scalas or Cornwall IV, depending on budget.  Tekton?  He said WAF was important, so...
