Subwoofer Question If you can 'locate' the single sub easily, then of course it affects the imaging. Even if it does not technically 'pull the image' to one side, the ears ability to locate the bass affects the image in your brain. If properly set up, a single su...
??? Where Does "High End" Start ??? +1 @maprik For me, it was a used Audionet Pre1 G3 preamp for about $3500. It blew away my previous Classe, Parasound, BHK and other PS Audio. It opened my ears and eyes!
Remastered CDs, HDCDs, SACDs Hello @larsman, thanks for the distinction. I think I am not the only one to get that 'mixed up' as I see it in print everywhere. But, looking at this album for example I find: https://stevenwilsonhq.com/spatial-audio/in-the-court-of-the-crimso...
Remastered CDs, HDCDs, SACDs Stephen Wilson has done a fine job remastering many rock albums.
Room treatment Try opening the curtains. Not ideal as on one side but glass is lively (usually bright) vs curtains are damping.
The difference between tubes and solid state that I am finding Hello again @ghdprentice! While you are of course correct in your explanations of Tube vs Solid State, your admitted bias shows! You list the pros of tubes and the often found negatives of SS. :) And yes, it does take money to get amazing SS, b...

Biamp & how many others Hello op, like @ghdprentice, I have invested in what I think are the best mono amps. I would rather have my amps than double amps that are not as good. That said, I have been to GTT Audio’s big room with Vivid Muons biamped with Audionet Heisenb...
Driving speakers in more than one room Hi Greg, You get the distortion in your main speakers while playing the MF Integrated with the NAD in standby? If so, whit if you turn the NAD OFF?
Driving speakers in more than one room How exactly are you: 1) outputting the signal from integrated #1 2) inputing this signal into integrated #2? What integrateds? It should work. I do this from a receiver into another old receiver for in wall speakers in a bedroom. My two rece...
Downsize from C2200/MC275 to integrated SS If you are looking at Nagra and Burmester, you should look at the Audionet Humboldt. Probably the best integrated, but does not include a phono. It is LARGE. If you like your double tubed McIntosh sound, any of these SS integrateds will sound di...
Long Run of Speaker Cabling Hello @rbschauman I have a very similar situation with equipment on the side and one 18' run and one 30' run to speakers. I have very nice power cables and interconnects, but the long runs were daunting. I first used double runs of 10 gauge OCC ...
Best and Worst customer service? @cantorgale , there is no way Roon can have the WORST customer service. They do not have any customer service at all. :)
Moving Roon to new core Yes it will all transfer. Good idea to back up Roon Core before you do it. I lost everything once, and it was extensive playlists that were the most painful loss. You can download a pdf of those also before transfer.
Suggestions for a holographic preamp? Audionet is often praised for it's holographic sound. No tubes or tricks. I have owned the BHK pre and would not recommend it. Others' experience will certainly vary. |
