Nufore ref 9 se vs kharma mp150 Kharma speakers, in my opinion, tends to be on the bright side, while Sonus Faber speakers tend to be mellower. Avalon is about in the middle-ground. Regardless, I think you should listen yourself, with the amps in your system.
Preamp has too much gain The electronics should be run at the highest possible gain, at a given supply voltage, where feasible. For example, if the line stage is designed for 20dB of gain, and you run it at 5dB, the THD will go up tremendously, and the circuit may even be...
Preamp has too much gain Very easy to fix, just need couple of high-quality resistor to construct a voltage divider.Assuming your preamp has an input impedance of 100kOhm, then, to reduce the gain to 1/3, you can insert a 200kOhm resistor in series to the input RCA.The ga...
A Bright Pair of Watt Puppys Have you checked to make sure the Puppy is working? The speaker cable from Watt to Puppy could have detached.
ML No.20.6 vs 23.5 I have owned the 23.5 many years ago, and replaced them many years ago. IMHO, modern day amplifiers are better than them for the same price. Took a huge lost when I sold them. One of my more costly audiofool purchase.
Need Help Guys Bat Vk5 preamp tube rolling Capping the unused XLR inputs (don't do anything to the outputs!!!) significantly drops the noise floor for the Vk series (had the 5, now upgraded to 5SE).
Any suggestions on coolest running monoblocks? In my system, the D-100s were more "tube-like" in the midrange than the Nuforces. Being a long time tube amp lover, this was very important to me. In addition, I felt the D-100s had a tad more width at the back of the soundstage.Due to the fact th...
New H20 Signature S250 The H20 also works well with low capacitance IC.Icepower does not recommend capacitive load > 470nF, or Quote Icepower data sheet: 'Higher capacitive loads may compromise stability and thus damage the device."
New H20 Signature S250 The "250W" ice power module 250A is really a 150W (RMS) amplifier. Read the data sheet. Similarly, the '1000W' 1000ASP module can only sustain 85W of continuous operation at 25-degree-C, and 40W at 50-degree-C before thermal shut down occurs. Even...
Any experience with the Nuforce Ref 8 mono amps? There is a technical support patch for NuForce, follow the instruction and enjoy even better performance than I thought possible from these <2K amps.BAT VK5SE, Quad ESL57, NuForce Ref8B.
Anyone heard Nuforce Reference 8 Amps? Tvad,Whats the speaker and preamp you're using? Did you let the amp run at least 50 hours? The rhythm and pace on my Quad is so captivating, I thought my Quad II sounded like AM radio....
Which Solid State Amplifier is Making you Happy? NuForce Ref 8 driving Quad ESL57 modified.
Anyone heard the new Halcro Class D? A new tiny 3-lb switching amplifier is stirring Audiocircle right now.http://www.audiocircle.com/circles/viewtopic.php?t=17913
Solid stylus cleaners: Extreme Phono vs. Onzow Zer Due to shipping in a vertical or reverse postures, the cleaner may leaked out. If that happens, just yank open the case and scrape the content back into the center of the case and flatten the lump. If any one need more cleaner due to the leak, ple...
why do i lose center image when i use xlr cables? your cable or equipment is out-of-phase. There're 2 common XLR wirings, you probably need the other one. Or, simply reverse the speaker cable lead (+ to -). |
