$100,000 line stage
I was surprised how much an improvement this Destination Audio preamp was over my passive preamp (which was better than the Schiit SYS, which I still keep in a drawer as a backup).  Since this review, I became friends with Destination Audio owner,...
Low noise, neutral, high current power cord for wall to power distributor
I really like my Straight Wire Pro Thunder power cord, which you can view at this page:http://www.straightwire.com/power-cable.php I use it with my LampizatOr Lite 7 DAC, but it actually is designed to be optimal with power amps.  Cheers,Juan

Amps from the 1980's -- What gear holds up sonically? Reliably?
My vintage Mark Levinson ML-9 has been re-capped at the store where I bought it used several years ago, and my technician brought it back up to spec awhile back, and it sounds amazing! You can see it in my system at the link below:https://systems.a...

Preamp popping!
In my case, the advise to turn on the amp on first and off last came from a mobile DJ in regards to his pro audio gear.  I was working for him at the time and had turned on his Crown amp last, creating a big "POP"!  He was not happy. With my Lampi...
Best tube dac available?

PS -- I cut the corners of the quarter round where they meet with a plastic jig that a friend lent me for cutting corners like that at 45 degree angles.

I made simple drawn plans on paper.  Using 1/4" fiberboard from Home Depot at roughly 54"x23", I cut, glued and nailed 1/2"x3/4" quarter round (the wider portion laid horizontally) at the edges of the board, with the curved portion facing outwards...

Thanks, Todd and MCA.  My thinking was to create a pair of panels like mine that can be stored and pulled out to lean up in front of and against the entertainment center when mca7944 wants to do some listening, then put away when done.  As I recal...
