Searching for a little more warmth
How reflective is your room?  If very, adding absorbers can help. You may have too much mid-treble hash.
Wool Blankets as Room treatment
Absolutely! :)  Certainly better than nothing at all if you have bare drywall.  A combination of reflection and absorbers is usually desirable.  Also GIK and others make panels you can have art printed on them.
What High End AC Cables should Offer
@audphile1   I’m saying that manufacturers should offer 90 degree plugs with the cables at 45 degree angles, like many surge protectors have already. I have 2 types of bass traps from GIK and both have soft sides, but you are right, not all wil...
What High End AC Cables should Offer
@audphile1 - Au contraire! The plug can be rotated in 360 degrees so you can pick a convenient exit direction.  If you use a 45 degree angle on the exit, so it points neither straight up or straight down, leaving room for 2. Next, I speak from e...
Sagging power plugs in wall outlet, diy
Also consider this thread, where we cover how to strengthen the support an outlet has.
2 conductors vs 3
There are 2 benefits to using a 3 conductor IEC cable instead Better grip thanks to the ground pin in the IEC socket Some grounded power cables are also shielded, but most are not. Of course, you only get benefit #1 if your IEC socket has a ...
Absorption of digital hash
OP:  Not sure what you are doing, but please keep in mind the heat dissipation of some devices.  Wifi routers especially need a lot of airflow to function at top speeds, and may even shut down.  Modern, Energy Star compliant Ethernet switches shou...
Loud vs. Tactile Bass
The hardest part of any system is getting the bass both loud and smooth. Not sure if you mean you want sound effects level bass, or you want punchy music club type of bass. The former is around 16 Hz to 30 Hz. The latter between 40 and 80 Hz.
Overkill for small room
EQ + room treatments will be your friend.  The room treatments will keep the mid-high frequencies tamed, EQ will help you deal with room modes.  You may even consider bass traps. Also, check out the AM Acoustics room simulator to help you find i...
Stereophile review of the $30,000 tekton speakers
I have no particular experience with Tektons, but I will say I disagree with the idea that there should be some mathematical calculus between how Stereophile rates a speaker and how much it costs. Stereophile's speaker reviews are IMHO only usefu...
You don't lack bass, you have too much treble
@erik_squires  And just what do you think you are going to do about bass in any normally sized residential space?   Wow, @mijostyn you keep arguing about things I'm not talking about so I'm going to just let you have that conversation over in ...
Topping D90 bass bloat?
You know, this could be the opposite.  If the preamp impedance is too low, and DAC output impedance too high it can cause a source to have too little bass, and your Topping was actually producing the correct amount.  I'd be very surprised if this ...
The Psychology of Constant (Equipment) Change
I really like the idea of keeping a small group of tube integrateds to swap in to a system, sadly I find myself unable to go that route at this time.  I don't think there's a problem any more than wanting to listen to different types of music or e...
Not enough outlets
My humble suggestion is the Parts Connexion extension kit.  I like it for two reasons: You can substitute your own favorite outlets and/or IEC socket Has voltage meter built in
You don't lack bass, you have too much treble
Also, if your stew has too much salt, add more potatoes.  Same Yin-yang balance I'm trying to talk about here.
