dynaudio esotar vs accuton
Forgot, but you should also ask this at DIYaudio, lots of people with first hand knowledge there.
DACs with High Voltage Output
Mytek Brooklyn, approximately 9V maximum output. :) https://www.stereophile.com/content/mytek-hifi-brooklyn-da-processor%C2%96headphone-amplifier-measur...Also, it sounds great. :) Best,Erik
dynaudio esotar vs accuton
I've heard a lot of Accuton based speakers and really never have I heard one that I liked. I'm not an expert in Dynaudio, but I thought they no longer sold their drivers via OEM/DIY channels and the closest to their tweets is probably the Morels. ...
Does anyone play two pairs of speakers at the same time?
Yep, I have some non-audiophile friends and they LOVE that set up. They feel it produces an immersive sound field. You loose all sorts of audiophile goodies, but they have fun that way. I also sometime thing about experimenting with rear facing sp...
D’Agostino Momentum stereo vs D’Agostino Progression Stereo Amp
The top of the line Luxman's do not do too shabby either. :)
Clarity CMR vs Jantzen Alumen Z caps
Hey Paul,I really really think you are at the point where you need to buy and listen. :) Best,E
Kal on sub integration and AntiMode
Hey @millercarbon , Setting the crossover point and slope and delay. Removing the peaks and nulls, as well as setting the slope of the subwoofer itself and possibly EQing the main speaker to transition better. This covers integrating sub to speake...
I woke up with cold ears
Well, since this is Audiogon, I'm going to argue: The N80 was Nikon's last and finest consumer film SLR I'd say the N2020 was. It had a real metal body.
Distortions that the human ear likes. Are there any ?
The problem is even if there was a “good distortion” it would be drowned in a sea of “bad distortions.” In which geoff proves all music is distortion, and all distortion music, and human life is meaningless in the cosmic time scale.
Airmotion folded ribbon tweeters. Are they worth all the hype?
I hate the GE speakers because the ones I have heard were bright, and ragged. The opposite of smooth and neutral. But if you like the B&W sound, that's what they try to emulate. :)
Distortions that the human ear likes. Are there any ?
Room measurements typically exhibit a downward “tilt” from low bass to high treble of 6 up to 15 dB. This is caused by a number of factors including reduced dispersion and greater absorption in the room at high frequencies. Do not attempt to EQ yo...
Distortions that the human ear likes. Are there any ?
To confuse the waters even further, there's also changes in our hearing with age and trauma. There are speakers which are arguably far from neutral, which may correct for these losses, and make your ears feel young again. Is this "pleasurable dist...
Distortions that the human ear likes. Are there any ?
Based on what I've read, and experienced, including writing from Pass, and listening to Pass gear and my own experiences, here goes:The perception and appreciation of distortion and other non-linear sound reproduction is a learned, not innate, cap...
Ayre Codex vs. Lampizator Amber II
Codex measurements are awful. Probabably is not necessary to spend that much to upgrade. The Codex measure very very very closely to the Pono in Stereophile, and the Pono was one of, if not THE best sounding portable I’ve ever heard, especially wi...
Airmotion folded ribbon tweeters. Are they worth all the hype?
Air Motion Transformers. Technically not ribbons at all. You should absolutely not buy based on a label like AMT or Be or anything else. Having said that, the best AMT’s are as good as the best in the world. There are also mediocre AMT’s, like med...
