Purchased new speakers, need amp suggestion Lots of good Class D amps which would work for you in this price range, I strongly encourage them. ICEpower units, especially 5 years old or so, will add some warmth. Otherwise you would also enjoy Parasound A21.
The imperfect amp: Pass or Ayre? I’ve started 2 threads about Pass. I’ve solicited details, and pretty much only discouraged posts which lacked specifics of gear and encouraged relative discussions. "I listened to brand x and I ended up with Pass because ..." Plenty of all pro-Pa...
I'm looking to learn about Air Motion Transformer technology I also want to point something out. The attention we pay to tweeters, and the amount we pay for tweeters, is really out of proportion with the amount of sound that comes out of them, especially in a 3-way speaker, only about 3 ish octaves. There’s...
Need Help! My Class A Amp Is Running Very Hot DID YOU TRY DISCONNECTING YOUR SPEAKERS??
I'm looking to learn about Air Motion Transformer technology Hey there, I'm listening to some right now. The potential is high, but not always realized. There are some damn awful sounding AMT speakers. The one thing they all share is very low stored energy compared to dynamic tweets. However, their frequenc...
Need Help! My Class A Amp Is Running Very Hot Oh! Also, if you have a "separate" switch, use that, see if the power drops for any of these examples. :)Best,Erik
Need Help! My Class A Amp Is Running Very Hot At idle, the Watt meters are pretty accurate. As I said above, it could be you have a signal you cannot hear, so it is important to try disconnecting the speakers. If you have an A/B switch that would work. So would switching inputs to an unused i...
Need Help! My Class A Amp Is Running Very Hot As I noted, disconnect the speakers, and all inputs, and measure again. If it's still 330, and you are sure you are running a US model, contact the manufacturer. They are pretty responsive.
Need Help! My Class A Amp Is Running Very Hot Yeah, running a 100V model at 120V will absolutely cause this problem!
Need Help! My Class A Amp Is Running Very Hot http://www.luxman.com/I don't know why peeps don't rely on manufacturer's websites. :) Per this, it should be ~ 260 at idle, and ~ 330 at full power. Disconnect all inputs, and outputs. You may have some ultrasonic oscillations going on. If that ...
Correct Way to Invert Phase You can only "reverse" the pins with XLR or balanced connectors. Otherwise, you are just grounding the signal. :) Do yourself a favor and do it at the speaker.
The imperfect amp: Pass or Ayre? 1- I truly dislike IPAs to the point I won’t touch the stuff. Give me any variety of other beers please. Which is why it is the perfect analog for this discussion, especially since you are wrong. (I'm joking!!)
The imperfect amp: Pass or Ayre? depending on what design you’re focused on, Pass doesn’t just make some of what he does transparent, he makes all of it so. So many of his circuits are totally laid bare for people to read/analyze/copy/modify. His support of DIY makes the high end...
Most annoying song, period. Feliz Navidad in English and Spanish. As someone raised bilingual, this song is an abomination in both languages.
You've tried other amps and ended with Pass, please discuss @audiofound Can you compare it to other amps you heard at the same visit?? |
