stand-mount speakers for classical music
Given that you are using room correction and a sub, I'd talk to Fritz and ask him to make you a sealed version of any of his speakers. :) Best,E
How to stop waterboarding
Hey powder,You can get a power condition with a "voltage regulator" however, those fixes are kind of coarse and probably not related to the issue you are having. Here's an example: https://amzn.to/3cHrepuHowever, without understanding your system ...
Does anyone collect something else other than music.
I collect useless trivia and obsessive anti-fans who remember everything I ever wrote in the hopes they can use it against me someday.Otherwise I'm a pretty much Marie Kondo. Best,E
Suspected power fluctuations on new 20A Circuit
Why do you need regulated power? Venezuela? Zimbabwe? Yeah, that’s why so many voltage regulators are installed sold in the US. In at least one location I lived in a regulator kept my home voltage from spiking to nearly 130V. Within tolerances, b...
Suspected power fluctuations on new 20A Circuit
Hey there.  Here's the easiest / cheapest / safest tool for you:https://amzn.to/3cAZd2HIt's designed to measure long-term power consumption, but you can use it to monitor the voltage in real time.  Put it before your voltage regulator, so you can ...
Why do you guys pursue a flat frequency response when you buy a subwoofer?
Problem is that we are supposed to be trying to replicate a live performance in our listening room. Not me, I’m definitely not doing this. A friend creates home theatres and sets in room response flat with pretty darned accurate instrumentation a...
RF Chokes/Ferrite Beads, do they have a place in your system?
I used them in the power connectors for the Class D amp kits I built.  Not sure if there was an audible improvement, but that's definitely a place for them.
Polarity: Jadis and Luxman.
Well blow me down, I did not know this.  In my 507ux there are phase switches for each XLR input pair. Thanks!Erik
Looking for Linear Power Supply for my Mytek Brooklyn DAC. Suggestions?
When I was in Engineering school, my professors told us that every dollar added to a design created ten times that cost in retail price. And this is why speaker kits can be so cost effective... but I digress.
Looking for Linear Power Supply for my Mytek Brooklyn DAC. Suggestions?
It's not that switching supplies are necessarily bad, it's that they are not always designed with an eye to keeping noise out of the AC line. A good switching supply can offer stellar output.  For the currents and voltages we are talking about in ...
MAC BOOK OR STREAMER ?
I think using a Mac is overkill. Roon, BlueOS, and Volumio are things you should look into.
Review: Fritz Heiler’s Carbon 7 SE Mk 2 bookshelf speakers
First of all, the Carbons are better (based on what I heard — caveat: outside my home) in tonal balance and imaging than Focal Aria 906, B&W 707, and the GoldenEar Aon 3. The tweet Fritz uses though, completely wroth the difference in price t...
Theta Audio DAC will not play on Onkyo Receiver
Wait, what have you tried and what happened?
Short speaker wire and long inter connects or reverse
Convenience and aesthetics over all I think. :) Remember that the amps need power too, so if you move them you'll have to run power to them. Depends on your cables and noise. Unshielded interconnects in a high noise environment will be a bad choice.

Hey OP: I used the Astron with the variable voltage dial and usually set it around 13 V. Yes, I'm using it with a Mytek Brooklyn (the original version). https://amzn.to/2ArKg4JBest,E
