Speakers which always sound good The so called "open floor plans" are the bane of an audiophile's existence. Got to love the clanking dishes and pots banging on the stove. Erik, I believe you live in CA, the open floor plan capital of the world. Try to find a house with an upsta...
I was going to give my son a system, with brand new Solid Steel rack but he has AirPods??? My son is in his early 40’s. He grew up listening to music on my various systems, mostly vinyl and CD. He was always interested in music as a kid and has been to many concerts. He was also in a band for a few years until marriage and kids took pri...
Question For Those That Watch Movies/TV Through Your Two Channel System Thanks for all your suggestions. The Power Node might be an option or maybe upgrade the AVR. Another option would be to move his Yamaha Integrated from the turntable system and try it in the HT system for a while.
Question For Those That Watch Movies/TV Through Your Two Channel System @stringreen Yes, I've had that same problem with my HT system, Parasound 5 channel amp, Marantz AV processor, Paradigm speakers. Sometimes I just turn on the captions.@mijostyn Thanks, maybe my son's Christmas present this year will be an integrat...
Question For Those That Watch Movies/TV Through Your Two Channel System @bkeske The reason this question came up was because yesterday we added a Node 2i to his system. I just wasn't sure if watching movies in 2 channel stereo would be a disappointment after having a center speaker with the clear so...
How much overhang is ok between a speaker base and the stand top plate? I have Skylan stands. Noel made them to the specific height that I needed. I assume he can also build stands with custom sized top plates.
What isolation feet under your amp with great result? @whitestix @rlb61 When using the EVA pads, do you remove the stock feet?
When suggesting audio components for friends and relatives... Yes, criticism is overrated, no?
Wall mounting on studs Just install the new lumber horizontally as needed. Use at least 3" deck screws and pre drill pilot holes. If you are worried about vibrations, add more blocking above and below the location of the shelf.
Bluesound installed DAC - music killer? @jmphotography Thanks for your detailed response.
Bluesound installed DAC - music killer? @jmphotography I have read that the Qutest can be overly bright or analytical in some systems. . Can you tell us what speakers and amplification you are using? Glad to hear you are enjoying the Qutest.
Am I Splitting Hairs With My Connections? Usually they are all the same, except if you have one labeled "high current" for amplifiers.
Sonus Faber sonetto II vs Harbeth 7ES-3 I've had the C7ES3 and @avanti1960 's description is exactly right. I also upgraded within the Harbeth line and gave the C7's to my son. He loves the them and I still get to enjoy them when I visit.
Adding a SS amp as a 2nd amp for my tube rig has been a plus Inner ear emulsification, be careful. |
