HPA-2 vs 4B-ST I did compare the two, and imho the Bryston is a much better value. It was hard for me to hear any real difference with my speakers-Aerial 7bs- and the combo of lower price and 20 year warranty made it an easy choice for me. Good luck.
sacd help please Thanks Simon. I will check on the various mfg of speakers. They are Aerial and B&W but I have never checked on your point, and I appreciate the heads up. Bmpnyc, the Lexicon does digitize the inputs. What type of equipment will have an analogu...
Experience with Aerial models 6 or 7b My experience with the 7b has been quite good and should work for you if the power is adequate. (250 per minimum). I would say that the naut 803 is another valid choice, different voice and more dynamic than the Aerial, although I find the Aerial ...
Amp for Thiel CS6 I doubt the proceed was too underpowered for the Thiels, but if you feel that way, look at the Bryston Monoblocks. You should be able to get them used in that price point. I think the long term match with the Mac may make your ears bleed. The deno...
9B-ST for Home Theater Amp To support the last comments, I have found the 9b to be a very strong compliment to the 4b in my system. I have seven channels and the difference in power is offset by the difference in the efficiency of the various speakers that I use (aerial in ...
Which Sub breaks the house down?? The sunfire line is a good value for loosening teeth without having to build. They also have the benefit of being reasonably small.
Which cables for B W N803 s and Bryston7 I have had quite good success with Transparent in a similar configuration.
B W monitors too bright? I would second sugarbrie's comments. I have found the cdm series to be both revealing but highly listenable. The overall balance is often a derivative of upstream electronics, and with reasonably high quality-not excessively expensive-the B&W'...
EAD Signature,Proceed AVP or Lexicon MC1 Just a counterpoint on the lex. I chose it over these two for a few reasons. The two channel is more than adequate, the upgrade policy and practice is superior, and the digital flexibility is outstanding. They are all good products, but I can tell...
How many seats in home screening room? Bill, I have two couches in the room. The front seats three-four adults and the rear seats four to six adults. IMHO, my room at 15x23 works best with about six people. The rear couch is on a riser of about 8 inches so there is good viewing for all.
Tired of My Thiel's!!! UPGRADE TIME??? I have found that the revel line is a pretty natural uprgrade from the Thiels and works well with Meridian. I recognize that this is also a bigger ticket item, but it is a question of changing the Meridian or the Thiels. I think-like others-there ...
How many seats in home screening room? A couple of thoughts. First, I would definetly use a Dunlavy center speaker. I have found mismatching the front to be a real problem, especially as you migrate to dvda or other multichannel audio.(I use Aerial) Secondly, I would consider couches i...
Best CD player for $700.00 I think you will find the rotel 971 hard to beat. Probably you can get it for under 600$ with a little effort. HDCD and imho a more balanced presentation than the adcom.
electrostatic with detail? Thanks for the input on the various items. Johnsonwu, do you have an opinion on the better detail with air, and yes I will look at the prodigy/ascent.
speakers for Creek 4330 Thanks for the collection of helpful responses. Some were so compelling I am actually going to try a few of the options. |
