Breaking news! Jays Audio is moving to Texas and takes interest in McIntosh
He’s got an addictive channel what can I tell you. Doesn’t mean I have to agree with everything. He’s really into what he’s doing and I respect that. I think his videos are on the long side and yes I still wish they had more descriptive info abou...
Breaking news! Jays Audio is moving to Texas and takes interest in McIntosh
Plus I'm waiting to see how he likes the mcIntosh 901 and maybe he'll give us a sneak peek of the speakers that he's hiding   .
Breaking news! Jays Audio is moving to Texas and takes interest in McIntosh
I like him he's got a lot of positive Energy. And he keeps flashing all this wonderful gear what could there be not to love here. I think he's bringing life to the whole industry so this can't be a bad thing, it needs to be revitalized.  I think ...
How important is the efficiency of a speaker to you?
Amazing how complex and convoluted this discussion is.  I don't think there's a good answer here. Except, having a Quality tube or solid state amplifier with plenty of power is undisputably a good thing. Yes there are speakers that can run off of...
Are You a Swifty?
I don't like the way she takes so much money from her fans who really shouldn't be spending that kind of money on her tickets. Seems pretty greedy to me.
12AX7A preamp tubes - ribbed vs smooth plate
The Mono amplifier uses 4 12AT7 tubes and while four seems a bit much for rectifying (ie converting AC to DC) maybe two are devoted to this worthy cause and then it leads to the question what are the other tubes used for . I thought preempt tubes ...
12AX7A preamp tubes - ribbed vs smooth plate
@jond  You got lots of cool stuff. Maybe you have too many tubes in boxes. Why you have so many tubes? 4 12AT7 tubes. no clue what they do Beyond rectify. I know rectify transforms AC to DC and why you need four tubes to do that, dunno.
12AX7A preamp tubes - ribbed vs smooth plate
It's a mono block amplifier with 8 KT 88 and 6 small tubes (  4 rectifier, 2 preamp).  And in this food chain, it's my understanding the 2 preamp tubes probably impact sound the most.  So this is where I want to spend my money.
Rockport Lyras
I'm troubled  no one on this forum seems to own the rockport speakers. My dealer just began offering them and I was interested and now I'm not sure what to do. I need some speakers for another room and all of a sudden rockport is not as exciting ...
Stolen property
I thought speakers were supposed to be theft proof by being so heavy. I didn't realize there was a black market for stolen audio equipment. Although I am very concerned that I will wake up and find all the tubes missing from my gear these are much...
DSP? Does it really do that much???
The problem is working with these DSP interfaces when you want to tweak it. If it’s part of an AV processor god help you. On roon, which I have, I see all the complicated and convoluted changes you can make and quite frankly I’m not sure it’s wor...
DSP? Does it really do that much???
So why do these dsp manufacturers make it so difficult to use their product. I have to test everything and then I have to load it to my AV processor. And if I don’t like it I gotta go back and adjust the curve and then reload it and see what happe...
DSP? Does it really do that much???
What actually happens to make it do what it does if it does much Beyond what tone controls do??
Ken Fritz - very nice recent Washington Post YT video
No it's a different video that's only a month old. And shows Mr. Fritz and a serious health decline.
OCD mickey website and negativity.
I enjoy his videos when they short and to the point and filled with commentary about audio components all the extra rhetoric is very very annoying. Brilliant minds work differently than the rest of us I guess. Although being blissfully ignorant w...
