After Market Power Cables - Gold or Snake Oil?
For the record, I've made power cords for most of my components out of Carol industrial cord, 12 gauge, with hospital grade connectors on each end. That makes sense to me and it's as far as I'm willing to go.
After Market Power Cables - Gold or Snake Oil?
I'm trying to understand. If the expensive cords DON'T help, it's becuse I can't hear, or my equipment is too lousy to be improved by a cord, and of course the answer to that one is that I need to buy more expensive equipment so I can then purchas...
Your Favorite Holiday Recordings Are?
The "Jingle Cats" is by far the finest.
MSB Link and static electricity
Thank you for your help. I've been using it, the Link, and it seems to be fine. I'm glad to hear that others have experienced the same thing. For the record, I have a humidifier going full blast, but the colder the weather gets the more the furnac...
An odd idea
I had a similar experience. I have a home theater system consisting of PSB speakers and a Yamaha 5.1 amp. I wanted to use a Cambridge A300 integrated to just run the mains. I could not, and still can not figure out a way to use both of the amps at...
Creek 5350 "U" bars
I have no dealers in my area. Does anyone know where I get this Tara labs RSC Link?
Satellite or CATV?
Sound is what most of the people on this forum would be after. I've had both cable, and now Dish network. I have one of the receivers that puts out dolby digital via toslink, that I have run into an MSB link. It's better than any tuner that I've e...
Where R U?????
Duluth Minnesota. I met a guy in the Minneapolis area, and wonder if anyone else is close.
Diana Krall's New CD "Live in Paris"????
I bought the recording yesterday, and have been listening to it steady since then. The album is well recorded, and is done with small forces, instead of the full orchestra that some of the later albums had. She also puts a new spin on some of the ...
Diana Krall's New CD "Live in Paris"????
I came to this thread hoping to find out something about a new recording that I've not yet heard. Instead I read reviews from a couple of people that seem bent on insulting anyone that likes this music. If you have anything objective to say about ...
Most Honest Audio Magazine?
At one point I thought that Stereophile, and especially their "recommended products" was written in stone, for once and for all. When I'd shop for gear I'd always check to see where it was in the lists. If it wasn't there I didn't even consider it...
Graphic equilizers?
I've noticed that the harshness is most noticable on CD's, and not FM or the satellite feed. My CD player is a Rotel 951 and I'm using Silver Serpent cables from Better Cables. Someone advised me that an MSB Link would smooth things out, and I hav...
Graphic equilizers?
I would make the attempt with cables and things, but the only problem is that no two people agree which ones are the RIGHT ones. I will check into the Rane. Thankyou for your responses.
Vandersteen question.
OK. I've driven the distance and finally heard the Vandys. I don't know enough about them to know if they were set up right or not. I heard the 1's, the 2CE signature, and the 5's. They all sounded fantastic. I think I'd like to have the signature...
Vandersteen question.
I suppose it's kind of ironic. I began in the digital section asking about what digital device to buy. I was told to get rid of my speakers. In this forum I'm told to get a DAC. I have a Creek OB-14 and an Adcom GDA 600. If anything both of these ...
