16 ohm speakers: any amp sounds better with more resolution. speaker cables less critical.
I made a nice long wooden screwdriver, but Steve's doing it the first time, it's an excuse to meet him.I will bring my toy multimeter for him to throw in the trash or teach me how to use it for bias.

lewm, I don't recall indicating surprise modern preamps do not have FM. Few have them now, and anyone can stream FM online. I don't stream digital in my music system, and don't listen to FM in the home theater. Many/most young people never heard...

Harvey's NYC 45th street, near 5th avenue. I was not aware they had branches, they were medium to high end with active sales, before Sound by Singer ... other smaller boutique shops.

mapman Are those Grolsch bottles? They look darker than the Green ones, did they make a dark beer I wasn't aware of? Grolsch was my 'celebration' beer, couldn't afford it regularly.
