Burning a hole in my pocket!
I got some money too, new speaker cable parts ordered!I don't have any recommendation, I have dedicated circuit for preamp and amp, the amp came with important looking cable.IMO, buy 'returns accepted', just in case you don't hear a difference.
16 ohm speakers: any amp sounds better with more resolution. speaker cables less critical.

TUBE BIAS, socket to me!
jjss49 Thanks for the info and link.In my shop, I’ve got some nice chopsticks, one set hardwood, another set plastic, if I can find them. And a grinder, and lots of other sharp weapons of destruction.I know where to make the connections, evicently ...
Tweeters are silent on my Wilson audio Sofia 2
My teenage son had great parties, over the years he and his friends blew 4 pairs of tweeters on my JSE Infinite Slope Model II’s. They would have the wrong input, push the volume to max, then find the correct input, blam. Cost him $60. each party....
Uninsulated bare copper wire for turntable ground OK?
Homebound?Add bare wire, you could try it, it cannot hurt anything. You could wrap it with tape as a quick solution if hum appears. Some TT's don't have separate grounds. If it sounds good without the ground, as it might, ...Are you concerned about...
Garrard 60hz Strobed platter
That TT is beautiful, congrats on your purchase.Mechanically, it's very similar to my old Thorens TD124. It had markings on the bottom of the platter, a mirror so you could see it, and a light. I needed speed adjustment for sure, so I certainly un...
Should I use Speaker Spike / Isolation Base or Something?
Let’s start with: how heavy are your speakers? Heavy? Perhaps wheels!  Of course spikes make sense theoretically, but why sacrifice flexibility (alternate toe-in, alternate locations) for theory if you don't benefit from the theory.I've always ha...

Amp to power surround channels for MUSIC ONLY
What is your objective?Where/what are you getting the 5 (or 5.1) signals from?Back in the day, several amps and receivers had a 'derived center' output, for a center speaker. IOW, it created it's own center info (not you or your source).
TUBE BIAS, socket to me!
How about I make myself a long wooden stick/screwdriver instead of plastic. Wood safe?
TUBE BIAS, socket to me!
Well now, I like the KT88’s more than the 6550’s, difference was obvious, as obvious as switching from Triod mode to preferrable ultra-linear mode.I assumed all the difference was entirely in the tubes.Seller told me he had it’s bias adjusted just...
Pure tube phono preamp
OP,Not to be against your original idea which I have no recommendation for, just to clarify:You seem to be both tempted by and concerned about separate SUT. I was too. I avoided MC for many years, because of noise of early pre-pre transformers. Th...
