Good measuring DACs vs.
czarivey: A Ferrari will get you a lot more girls than that Ford truck though! I wasn't aware that rich children were foolish 🤔
Good measuring DACs vs.
Specs or test measurements don't equal musicality.  They are not human ears!
Did your system getting better the more money you spent or more experience you gained?
For me it was a combination of experience from trial and error and learning over time as well as cost.  If I had to put a number on it, it would be 60% experience and 40% money, but there is definitely a minimum amount to be spent to get satisfact...
Using PA Speakers In A Home "Audiophile" Application!
deep_333 OP: I went to the Rythmik website a little while ago because I was curious about those subs.  I had not heard of them.  They seem like good subs, particularly their servo technology.  They go pretty low in frequency too!  The only think t...
Extension cord advice
These are a great option and a great value.  They come in different configurations, and they are built like a tank! I have several and will vouch for them.  They also come with a generously long cord.  If the cord is too long for your needs, you c...
Using PA Speakers In A Home "Audiophile" Application!
deep_333: Keep in mind that I have been at this hobby since the early 80’s. Things accumulate over time. We have no kids and it’s just me and my partner in the house. My favorite DAC at the moment is my Ps Audio Stellar Gold DAC. It’s the most mus...
Using PA Speakers In A Home "Audiophile" Application!
I have tried many brands of PA speakers for home and still do use them, but I also have several hi fi speakers. I like to experience it all!  I have 6 rooms with audio gear. I have not tried Yamaha in my home, but I am very familiar with JBL, Meye...
Help needed to eliminate unwanted noise from tweeter
The only other things I can think of is to try to connect the noisy components to the input of the E280 and CDP-997 where you know there’s no noise. Also, if there’s enough slack on your cables and wires try holding the noisy component in your han...
Help needed to eliminate unwanted noise from tweeter
Try different XLR cables with the units causing the buzz/noise. If that doesn’t fix it, I would suspect your internet connection next. Sometimes they are noisy. Have you tried wired and WIFI to see if it makes a difference (if you have a Wi-Fi rec...
Transport--Used PS Audio PerfectWave or New Teac VRDS 701T????
For what it's worth, as well as PS Audio, I have 2 home Marantz CD players and 3 Marantz Professional CD players, and they have performed flawlessly for many years. Sounds like many, but I have several systems in 6 different rooms.
Transport--Used PS Audio PerfectWave or New Teac VRDS 701T????
New is new, but that aside I would choose the Ps Audio for several reasons. I have many of their components and they have excellent customer service and their products sound amazing. I would never by another TEAC product because about 6 months a...
Moving Magnet Phono Cartridges
eBay has many used ones.
Subwoofer
Connect left from source to left input of sub 1 and right from source to left input of sub2.
Young audiophile metal head looking to level up speaker choice
I cannot voice my opinion on those speakers because I have not heard them. Elac makes some great speakers, but everyone will give you their opinion and my guess is that you will be overwhelmed with the responses.  No bookshelf speaker is going to ...
A $250 Power Conditioner?
I haven't tried that but, in my experience an "AC regenerator" is the only thing that really works, but they're not cheap and cost several thousand for something that puts out enough amperage for power amplifiers.
