An audiophile who know NOTHING about TV Buy a copy of "HDTV For Dummies" for about $9.00 on ebay. Well worth it. I got mine from A1 Books. Good reading and it will answer all of your questions.
firewire IEEE1394... From what I understand, it's already in the past. We blinked and missed it.
Audio Research Ref 3 Opinions Here is the link to the ARC Data Base. I don't know who runs this site but it sure is comprehensive. Whoever is responsible - THANKS!http://www.arcdb.ws/
Audio Research Ref 3 Opinions FWIW, here is some info on the Reference Three. Makes my socks roll up and down.http://www.arcdb.ws/REF3/REF3.html
I think my RPTV went bye-bye This critter wouldn't, by chance, have a reset button on the back, would it? Just a thought.
CES Rumors I was shocked, shocked I tell you, when I heard that gambling was going on in the same town as CES.
Rothwell In-Line Attenuators? I'll have to agree with Swklein. Anything added to the signal path will degrade the sound

Does anyone rember how to calculate impedance? Don't worry about the slide rule, I think I still have one. It should be packed away with the eight track and the Elcassette.
Does anyone rember how to calculate impedance? For speakers in parallel it's R1 X R2 divided by R1 + R2, where R is the speaker impedence. So two 8 ohm speakers would be 8X8=64 divided by 8+8=16 for an answer of 4 ohms. In series it's additive so two 8 ohm speakers would be 16 ohms.
Is hdcd worth having ?? Entering "HDCD" on ebay just yielded 466 hits. How about a 2 CD set of Shania Twain's greatest hits. A DSD recording, HDCD encoded on gold CDs for $15 with shipping from Hong Kong. Worth that just for the cover picture. I've got another Chinese HD...

Help for those in Florida Starting to get some big gusts here in Orlando. My avocado tree is leaning over and will probably be down in a few hours. It's about 40 feet tall. That will make it the fourth tree down so far. Stu, where are you located? |
