$500-600 Used Tuner
If you can get by without remote control, you are in for a pleasant surprize. At $500-600 used there are so many excellent choices it will be difficult to pick the absolute best. Most of the best will be tubes in my opinion. McIntosh, HH Scott, Fi...
1st song you remember???
Sweet Georgia Brown by Django Reinhardt and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France with Stephon Grappelli. Dad was a big Reinhardt fan, being a guitar player himself.
Thoughts On "Bowling For Columbine"
The state of Vermont has virtually no gun control laws. Any law abiding citizen who wishes to carry a gun is free to. No permit required. The result? Lowest crime rate in the country. Criminals fear armed citizens more than the police.
Thoughts On "Bowling For Columbine"
I've held a concealed weapons license for many years and rarely leave the house unarmed. Never had to use it and hope I never do but I don't intend to be a victim of violent crime. Here in Florida we have plenty of it.
Theta Jade or Basic II
I use the Basic II with the Gen Va balanced. My brother bought a Jade and we compared the two at my house and his. He immediately sold the Jade. 'Nuff said.
Is it worth it?
Whatever speaker you choose, you need a set of Argent Room Lenses. They do wonders, especially in a small room. They are rediculously priced, so go to Audio Asylum to learn how to make your own. It's not rocket science.
What are your thoughts on the Dragon tape deck?
Cassette tape, 1/8", running at 1 3/4 IPS, can NOT be considered a high-end source. The tape is too narrow and the writing speed is too slow. So why bother with an expensive deck? The format is a sows ear. Don
Remote Power Switch for Wheelchair Bound
If I'm not mistaken, Parasound makes a device like that. I think it is called the "Scamp" and is made for power amps. They show up on ebay from time to time. Don
Your ONE all time favorite love song?
Stardust - Nat King Cole.
Will a sub improve the sound of my main SPKR'S ?
The opposite is also true. Adding a pair of ribbon tweeterswill do wonders for tightening and defining your bass. Don
Bob Bundus was wrong.
Darrylhifi was wrong. That's not how "recepticle" is spelled.
Aquariums and Audio Equipment
In addition to the problems that you mentioned, it will also ruin your image and especially depth. Probably not a good idea.
Audio Alchemy DTi Pro 32 - Any Good?
I'm using a DTI II AND a Genesis Lens with excellent results.
amplifier's "slam-factor"
As a general rule, I have found that MOSFET amps tend to provide "one note" bass that sounds like a wet pillow being struck by a canoe paddle. The sort of bass heard on early Telarc recordings. Bi-polar designs seem to be much better in this respe...
Relative air humidity on electrostat performance
FWIW, I don't think Krell or Bryston is a good match for Martin Logans as they both lean toward the "bright" side. You might want to get some tube stuff.
