Do Plugged Virgos sound better?
Technically, anything that has been plugged can no longer be considered a Virgo ;>)
Open-Minded or Gullible?
Hah! My system will resolve which nostril contained the booger. It was the left.
ARC: Outstanding Customer Service
This is why companies like ARC, Bryston, Magnepan, et al, are still in business after so many years. Are the rest of you manufacturers listening?
For those of you with power problems....
I seem to recall that B&W speakers are more reliable than B&W (Babcock & Willcox) reactors. Anyway, I've got to make sure that this reactor has cryo treated outlets before I place my bid.

Looking at the cooling towers, I would say that this is a nuke.
Preamps. Do we really need them?
Yep. I agree with the above. Passives give me a thin sound, totally lacking in body and especially dynamic range.

Digital cables: 75 or 110 ohms?
AES/EBU spec is 110 ohms, not 100.
Dynaco owners please comment
If you think that's good, wait 'til you hear the Dynaco tube amps like the Stereo 70 and the Mark III monos. Especially modified.
Rebuilt laser any good?
The Data and Data II are the laserdisc players and should be avoided at all cost. The Data Basic and Data Basic II are CD only. I've never seen a working Data Basic II for $400. If you have one, please let me know.
