Buzzing just won't quit: Can someone please help? Since you hear this through your sub too, I would try this: Take either the sub or your power amps and speakers to the other end of the house. Or, you can run a really long extension cord. This will tell you if it's the whole house or just that b...
Should there be concern? Why not report them to Audiogon? Audiogon is great about looking into "fishy" sellers.
Floor standing speakers in entertainment center It can't hurt to try? At least they are front ported. I would make sure that you keep them as far forwards as possible.

Can I mix 5 ohm ( Front L/R) and 8 ohm (Surround & Sub) in a 7.1 speaker setup ? You are gonna cook your amp. The more speakers you use, the higher the impedance needs to be for that receiver. Since 5 ohms is the average, just think if you get a 3 or 4 ohm dip. You could buy an external multichannel amp or just a more robus...

That's still a lot for Klipsch but not overkill.Personally I found that older Jolida's came with crummy tubes. Rolling tubes in them was expected.I still would...
Some Stereo Speakers Appropriate to my Setup and Around $500 or Less (if possible) If your plan is to go to 5.1 eventually, you really should only look at speakers where there is a matching center. Getting them voiced properly across the front makes a huge difference.
Open to buy a new pair of headphones. The problem with many headphones is that you can't lay down and keep them on your ears. You will either need smaller on ear phones or earbuds. The big over the ear phones like AKG will sound a lot like Maggies but don't work with a pillow.
Preamp with Tuner Quite a few receivers have pre-amp outs. You just have to be careful to not use the tape out.
Android device connecting to DAC My solution: Use an OTG cable (on the go) which should run you about $10. This will plug into the mini port on your Android. The other end is USB. I currently use a Music Fidelity V-Link to convert the signal to either Coax or Toslink. From t...
