| Funny sound from tube setup BUY A TUBE TESTER! They are cheaper than a set of kt88's. Usually your power tubes will last 1000 hours or so. Pre/gain tubes will last 5000 to 10000 hours. So, if you got your tubes all new, the power tubes would wear out first. | |

| Need phono pre amp recommendations Older AR's are great. Consider an SP-6. It has a superb phono stage. The SP-2 has a decent phono stage but it's hard to find one in great condition. I think that the phono stages in older AR's are build amazingly well. | |
