how much power do you need two drive magnpan1.6s Magfan...If we use 6 ohms (as you do) I agree with your 400 watts. However, I was under the impression that MG1.6 were a pretty flat 4 ohms, and resistive to boot. Using 4 ohms and your 50 volts gives 625 watts.A fuse blows because of I*R heating....
how much power do you need two drive magnpan1.6s Magfan...Stop and think about what I said. Sometimes the voltage at the hot (red) terminal of your amp may be +70, and sometimes it may be -70 but the black terminal is always 0, so the speaker never sees more than 70 volts across it. 80 volts app...
Speaker wires near AC wires No problem with the FM coax. Many FM radios use their line cords as an antenna.
how much power do you need two drive magnpan1.6s Magfan...True that Watts = E * I,But I = E/RSo Watts = E * E / R.Also, the "rail" voltages get output one at a time. PlusV-to-ground OR MinusV-to-ground. Never PlusV to MinusV.Also, the 4 amp fuse is at 120 volts. It can yield much greater current...
How is your power bill? Elizabeth...At 12 cents per kwhr, $12.00 will buy you 100 kwhr. There are 720 hours in a month. So, your amp draws 100/720 = 0.139 Kw or about 140 watts. Sounds about right.
how much power do you need two drive magnpan1.6s Rockadanny...I simply used a digital voltmeter, which makes a measurement about once per second. Careful observation will yield a result very near the maximum brief rms voltage. Then the peak is reasonably estimated as 1.4 times the rms. A peak-re...
how much power do you need two drive magnpan1.6s Magfan...Its Voltage squared divided by ohms load.70 volts would be 1225 watts.I actually made some measurements while my MG1.6 was playing very very loud music. My objective was to see if my 600 watt amp was overkill. I saw peak voltage at a leve...
how much power do you need two drive magnpan1.6s My MG1.6 sounded best when driven with a 600 watt (4 ohm) digital amp. CarverPro ZR1600. They sound almost as good with the audiophile-approved CI D200, also digital, and good for 350 watts.Maggies can sound deceptively good with much lower power,...
How is your power bill? Obama will probably institute a heavy tax on tube amps, and completely outlaw Class A.
Can "Digital" damage my gear? I wouldn't worry about a CD. Loose interconnects are the typical reason for loud noises. That's why tweeters should have fuses. But, for some of you guys, your fuses cost more than a tweeter !
Center channel for Maggies 20.1 Why not another MG 20.2. I have three MG1.6 bought new, so I don't see why they shouldn't sell you one. I did have to swear on a stack of bibles that I would not use it horizontally.
"tube watts" versus "solid state watts" Unsound...How about a Hybrid?
Redbook CD /DVD video/DVD-A sound quality Theoretically the new media are sonicly superior, but the difference is less than what can occur simply because of better recording and mixing. In other words there are well made CD that sound better than poorly made SACD.I am a big SACD and DVDA ...
"tube watts" versus "solid state watts" Arahl...Some SS amps have circuitry which detects when clipping is imminent, and limit gain so as to behave very much like a tube amp when overdriven. Also, consider that SS amps are, for any price point, much more powerful than tube amps, so that...
Can Sound-Smith tip sound as good as original? I got so annoyed with the problem of stylus replacement on MC cartridges that I went back to the good old reliable Shure V15. It was always..."we can't fix your cartridge but we will give you a discount on the new model, which happens to cost a lo... |
