Where are your maggies?? check out the Cardas website, there is a section there with suggestions and a formula for placing planar speakers. We used the formula with my friends 1.6s and it worked great.
Speakers that sing I would second the reccomendation for the Maggie 3.6. I have a friend who used to have a Levinson 333 with the Nautilus 802s and all high dollar transparent cabling. He needed to recoup some money from his sytem so he downgraded to the Bryston 4B ...
Just got a BAT VK1000 ? What you will have is a VK 500 after the conversion to stereo. There is plenty of info in the VK 500, it is known to be a very fine amp.
audioquest vs acoustic zen/kimber digital cable I agree I used to own the D60 and sold it after getting the MC2, the D60 had dull flat sound compared to the MC2. I also tried the Nite and didn't feel like it was worth the asking price over the MC2. I did slightly prefer it, just not at 3x the p...
Thinking Jupiter I have owned and know well the sound of the Planet. I recently upgraded to the Audio Aero Prima (basically the same price as the Jupiter) and it just kills the Planet in every way, in fact is is very close to as good as the Audio Aero Capitole Mk ...
Where is my weakest link? Your cables aren't up to par with the rest of your system in my opinion. I've owned the cables you have as well as the 150SEs and personally I would think you are missing out on quite a bit with the Audioquest cables
Is there a"giant Killer" CDP ? I own the Capitole Mk 2 and Prima, for 2 different systems. I have compared the Prima to the Capitole and the Capitole is just a little bit better, not by much. The Capitole Mk 2 is considered by many to be one of the best players at any price, so...
yba cd3 or Audio Aero Prima cd player? I too reccomend the Audio Aero Prima highly, I also own the Capitole 2 and have compared them and to be honest the Capitole 2 is only a little better, hardly worth 4x the money. The Capitole 2 is widely regarded as one of the best players out at a...
replacing Dunlavy SC-IV's I also replaced my Dunlavy 4s with the Avantgarde Duos and couldn't be happier, the Duos are a major commitment of time and energy to get them to sound their best, but when you do they are magic. The Duos are so much more spectacular than the 4s, ...
Frank's Analog 2 from Signal Cable I agree that Frank's cables are a steal at the price and offer very good performance, but in my system in a head to head comparison the Acoustic Zen Silver Ref smokes Signal Analog 2, no contest, the Analog 2 is congested and dull compared to the ...
I'm Not Flexible Check out the Power Chord from Audience. I've tested it against quite a few popular cords and next to the Elrod signature cords which are a lot more expensive it's my favorite, it is also quite flexible and easy to use. You can get a brand new 5ft...
Primare A10 or Creek 4330 integrated amplifier The Creek 4330 is one awesome little amp for the price, I am constantly amazed at the fidelity that is possible for around 300 used price.
Electrostats I can testify that the Eros Mk 3 will play very loudly without strain, in fact for me they even tend to be rather easy on the ear. The bass is fantastic and so is the woofer to panel blend. The only real problem I have with them is if you aren't l...
HELP with speaker selection. As long as you have the Freedom to pull the speakers out from the back wall as much as is needed (maybe up to 5ft out, the Maggie 1.6s are simply awesome souding with the Bryston 4B, and they are well below you budget.
synergy ii or aleph p or ????? I've demoed the synergy preamp and own the Aleph P. I like the Aleph P better personally, it is more like no preamp, very neutral and transparent. The Synergy was to rolled off sounding for my taste. |
