Wadia 860x vs Audio Aero Capitole Mark II 24/192?
The 860x was a stock player, no upgrade. I wonder why if the upgrade to the stock Wadia players makes them so much better Wadia doesn't just make them this way to begin with.
Wadia 860x vs Audio Aero Capitole Mark II 24/192?
Well I think I might just be the guy to answer your question. I owned prior to the Capitole Mk 2 a Wadia 860x for 2 years, I also kept the Wadia for a few months after getting the Capitole Mk 2, so I was able to do some head to head comparisons. T...
Speaker Cables
My 2 cents is that Harmonic Tech is knowhere close to as good as Acoustic Zen cables. I have owned both as well as many others including Nordost SPM, Silversmith, NBS, and most recently a 2 month demo of Audience cables. I am without a doubt convi...
Speakers for Bryston 4B-SST
I have a friend who has the Bryston 4 (an older one) with Maggie 1.6s and I can't believe how good it sounds. All in all his system is the biggest bang for the buck I have heard. Your listening prefrences would seem to match very well with what th...
Speaker cable bi wire for NHT 2.9, VK-150SE VK5 SE
I used to own the 150SEs, and they sounded great with Acoustic Zen Satori or Hologram speaker cables. I also have the MIT T2 and either of those would be a huge step up from the T2. Boy you need some better speakers to mate with the 150SEs, NHTs a...
HELP blown speakers
I talked to Silverline and it appears that the midrange driver is what failed. Apparently these are rather fragile compared to the other drivers in the speaker. I'm gonna replace it and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for everybody's help.-Ryan
HELP blown speakers
Thanks guys for all the valuable information. I have been using the Silverlines and Pass amps for some time with no problems. Recently I did add the Pass preamp and got rid of my mixing board. The sound is so much better than the Mackie mixer I wa...
Looking for speaker choice advice.....
I would get the Maggie 3.6, I have a friend who has the 1.6s with a Bryston amp and they are awesome, the bass is very good to. It doesn't get all the way down there, but what you do hear is very good. Another friend has Vandersteens, and while mu...
Looking for spkr suggestions
I have heard a few of the above speakers, and if it were me and I had the space to set them up properly I would go with the 1.6s, they are simply awesome for the money
Recommendations of CD player for my system
I have owned both the Meridian 506.24 and the Planet at the same time, and the Meridian is by far better. I don't think it would be overkill at all, in fact if you can afford it the 508.24 is significantly better than the 506.24. I have a friend w...
Used Wadia 16 for $2200, can you do any better?
I would look at the Audio Aero Prim CD player. I replaced my 860x with a Capitole Mk 2 and it crushes the Wadia in every regard. My dealer told me that the Prima is as good as the Capitole 2 in many ways and very close to as good in a few ways. It...
question to an Audio Aero Capitole mk2 owner
Hi, mine is diffrent than mejames. I have the Capitole Mk 2. Looking at the player from the front the connection is sideways with the single pin side of the connector on the left side. So 2 pins is on the right one above the other and 1 pin is on ...
aardvark basilisk chameleon
beware you are probably going to get 5 diffrent answers on what you should do. If there is one area of sound that is the most subjective it has got to be room acoustics and what materials etc.. achieve the best sound. Personally I think unless you...

Oak ledge in dedicated room?
I would put the oak in, if anything it sound like it might help with diffusion. When you build a room with parallel walls and everything is the same on both sides you are going to have to deal with the echo it will create. Plus wood sounds better ...
