a used Classe Cav 150 Vs. Rotel 1095
p.s. You could also haul your speakers in to them. I did this for a couple of demos.

Did you ask about demo at home? Many stores will let you do this overnight if you leave a credit card impression and they consider you a serious customer. Of course, for that service, plan to buy the gear from the dealer.- Eric
Classe 201 -vs- Odyssey Stratos
I have a Classe CA-200 (the newer sort that is supposed to be electronically the same as the CA-201) on order. I am very curious to hear your results.
SS Pre amps Krell KRC-3 vs Classe 47.5 vs BAT VK
Sogood, Fair enough, I should stick to what I've actually listened to!My remarks about the Classe are based on actual listening.- Eric

Zaikesman, good point. In fact, my Classe CP-35 doesn't even have an on/off switch on either the unit or the remote -- it's on all the time. I have measured it, it uses about 7 watts continuously, about like a night light. I don't think the 47.5 h...
Rat Shack SPL meter: Analog or Digital?
When I was demoing audio gear, I considered buying one of these to allow me to do a more fair comparison -- apparently it is very hard to set gear to identical volumes, and the louder gear sounds better.I was told elsewhere, though, that the accur...
Review: Marsh Sound Design A-400s Amplifier
What Classe did you compare to the Marsh? I am considering Classe 200 or201 vs. Marsh A400.Thanks...
Terrible room. Contemplating headphones. Help
Reviving an old thread here. Does Bob's suggestion (hang headphones off speaker output on your amp) really work? How is sound quality compared to "real" headphone amp? Do you risk damaging the phones (or ears)?ThanksEric
speaker stands on wood floors
Hi Don,Your gear is nicer than mine, but I thought I'd share what I did with my Celestion S300's (floorstanders). My goal was to reduce "boominess", so I guess you could say I was after "decouplng". My speakers resonated too much when sitting on t...
Was it worth the effort ? Advice needed...........
Zenith, visit a good hardware store and they will sell you a tool to do this.
classe/great customer service
This is an old thread, I just stumbled on it. I have had great luck with Classe. I bought a "demo" CP-35 phono board, and it didn't sound very good. I emailed Robert and they sent me a new one, no questions asked, no cost. I came by air a day or t...
How do you "downgrade"?
Hey BBTUNA, I have to ask, what were the pieces in this lower-end system that you enjoy? I'm always looking for ideas...- Eric
Rotel Users - Which Amp to Choose
If they are truly the same price, get the 1070. It has the newer styling, and has the ability to turn on/off via a 12V connection on the back (so you can turn it on and off via the pre-amp's remote).OTOH, I have been told that these amps are inter...
Rediscovering vinyl - Question about phono preamp
Great story. I had the same experience a year ago when I bought a $150 turntable (Denon) just to record my old records (many of which aren't available on CD), and couldn't believe they sounded better than my CDs! Of course, my CD player isn't as n...
Integrated amps, need some help
Well, there's no accounting for taste. I auditioned the NAD C370 against the Cambridge A500 about a year ago, and preferred the Cambridge. I found the NAD unbearably mushy and imprecise. "Romantic" is the nicer way to put it. I agree that the Camb...
