Any Good CD Recorder/Players?
Hi - The Alexis Masterlink is a hard-disc based CD recorder that sells for around $1000. You must first record to the hard disc and then burn the CD - in real time this can be 1 1/2 to 2 hours for ONE LP! Also, at 24 bit resolution it only has eno...
Any Good CD Recorder/Players?
Hi again - Sorry to be late getting back to you. I do think that the CD-RW4U might satisfy you as a primary CD player/recorder. Very little top end glare, realistic mids, and decent bass. It has proven itself more than the equal of quite a few mor...
Any Good CD Recorder/Players?
HI - Do yourself a favor and don't overlook the Tascam line of audio CD recorders. The CDRW4U is a 20 bit recorder that really surprised me as to how good it sounded as a player. You can usually pick one up for $300-400. The next step up is the CD...

Any Pink Floyd Historians?
I guess I'm not a PF purist, but I like RW's "Amused To Death" as one of the best LPs of all time. As for the rest of the PF catalogue, in order, I like:RW's "Radio KAOS"PF's "The Division Bell""Wish You Were Here""The Final Cut""The Wall""Momenta...

Cd Recorders?
Hi- If your simply copying from one CD to another, or making "greatest hits" compilation CDs, use a computer. It's much easier and more efficient. If you're recording from an analog source to CD, I highly recommend a stand-alone audio CD recorder....
Who's Your Favorite Bass Players; Why?
Joey Spampinato of NRBQ. He is good enough that Keith Richards asked him to replace Bill Wyman. That's good.Lovin the Q,Ed
"Junk" LP listings on audiogon - get rid of 'em
To Bizcut1: If I "totally missed the point" then you won't mind me starting a thread about the overabundance of ported-bass speaker listings whilst quoting you: "I'm just tired of wading through scores of "crap" listings...if I want to do that I c...
"Junk" LP listings on audiogon - get rid of 'em
Did anyone consider that those people are selling music? Do we have our noses so high in the air that unless it's 24 bit, 24 carat gold, 180 gram, digitally re-mastered, virgin, original OBI, and all that other nonesense that it isn't music? I wou...
Suggestions for a monitor speaker
Don't make a buying decision without considering the Sequerra Monitors. Check them out here:http://www.sequerra.com/electronics/data/met7.htmlNot "exciting" at first listen, but you learn to love their overall tonal accuracy. And, they have "real"...
How to put records on CD's?
I don't know about the other guys, but my experience is with a Philips CDR-880 and Pioneer Elite models PD-R05 and PD-R99. The Tascam is multi-bit and the others I tried were 1 bit (Bitstream) recorders. I personally feel multi-bit is more dynamic...
How to put records on CD's?
I'll second the Tascam option. Paulg805 is correct. It's MUCH easier - and less expensive in the long run - than doing it through a computer, and the results are far superior. The Tascam CD-R4U is a small, inexpensive 20 bit CD recorder that does ...
Pre-Amp Recommendation
Hi - You owe it to yourself to hear the new Audio Van Alstine Trancendence 7 Preamp before you buy anything. It doesn't have the "name" factor of some of the elite stuff others will recommend, but it will sound absolutely superb, and the phono is ...
