Review: Merlin Music Systems TSM MXM Monitor
I have been asked what cables I used with the Merlins:I own the Cardas GR and a solid core Audio Consulting copper cable, which incidentally i used until two weeks with the Wadia, as it had been a dream combination:Wadia S7i - Audio Consulting sil...
Review: Merlin Music Systems TSM MXM Monitor
I would like to add my experience of two weeks using the MASTER Tsm with the Wadia 151/170 either with MAC or the ipod.Good as it is, I feel that male voices are wonderful, even the Beatles reissue comes along fantastic. But real shortcomings appe...
audiopax Model 5
..that is actually quite easy, it is really much quieter. On a more careful note: It does seem to be more substantial in sound, and this is exactly not completely sure where the line goes in comparison with the Silver Rock TVC.The incredible thing ...
Review: Wadia 151 DA converter
I use it currently with the Master TSM by Merlin, as an alternative to my Audio Consulting; and it is not comparable. However, it grew on me, by playing for days and days, and the cold colours disappeared, but orchestra seems still a tad congested,...
Silver Rock TVC vs. other passives
I use the Silver Rock. It is probably way too late for this thread, but if you look up my answers you can see that i use it in conjunction with my Wadia to great results.e
audiopax Model 5
I think, you might have misread: colourful as in rendering colours vs coloured as in sounding veiled.I find the A'pax very transparent, i.e. not coloured, except in direct comparison with probably the most transparent preamp existing, the Audio Co...
Merlin Subwoofer?
In my room, 1910 built quite soft plaster wall, high ceilings and wooden floor the Merlins make perfect sense, in a harder room i could imagine something different, and the Stella was actually used with the bass between 10-31Hz, no phase correctio...
Merlin Subwoofer?
..funny, I have tried the VSM's with a Stella NOVUS bass managment (what a title) crossing at 31Hz. It was vg, but I kept using it in the Studio with its Stella OPUS speakers, where they make better optical and acoustic sense..(The Stella is an ex...
audiopax Model 5
Well, I still own it, but to be honest, yes, it has been replaced by a very simple solution:I currently use an all Audio Consulting silver rock passive pre into MIPA amplification: I am a very happy man!Looking to sell the Audiopax, despite the fa...
Review: Wadia Series 9 DA converter
Hi Rtn1,What do YOU mean by taking it to another level, maybe I was too fast to jump in and assume it was the GNS mods - as it is, I do have the Wadia on woodlenses and on a nice finite elements rack, otherwise have not really gone down the power ...
Wadia S7i direct to amp
It's all a question of relevance; I am a musician, so either in pleasure or in business I want to, or have to listen exactly, if so; I can always move the Passives volume control by hand using the W with 100%, at any other time when it is not esse...
Review: Sonus Faber Guarnieri Homage Speaker
Hi Daveyf,my way was a bit complicated: Coming from Audiostatic speakers i went to sf GH, which I loved, but after a while felt they were simply to shiny ;-) (lookwise)I then bought VSM's and as an afterthought the TSM MMe for my studio, those wer...
Review: Merlin Music Systems TSM mmi monitors Monitor
I use alternating cables: An audio consulting one solid strand copper cable, or Cardas GR.Cannot decide what I prefer, but in connection with the Audio Consulting amplification it tends to be the AC cable..e
Review: Sonus Faber Guarnieri Homage Speaker
Hi nice review! I liked them when I used them, but changing my C-J premier eleven to the Berning ZH270 made them sing - incidentally i later changed to the Merlin VSM's and now to my utter joy have found a small speaker that IMO eclipses the Guarn...
Review: Merlin Music Systems TSM mmi monitors Monitor
Let me clarify: the NOT in my first post is a typo!I meant what I said: the Master Tsm are my best loved speakers, surpassing the sf guarneri and even, in my room, the vsm mxe. Hope that's sorted!!
