AR 150.2 noise
I also have the 150.2 and have not experienced the problem you describe. So, to answer your question it is not normal for digital amp, at least not the 150.2. My question is has the noise been there every since you had the 150.2? If not, then it p...
Benefit of Tube Dampers/Coolers on 6H30?
Samhar, you just supported what I said! You were listening to stock 6h30's. Nos 6h30's are much better than the stock ones, just as nos 6922,6dj8,7308's are considerably better than stock ones, as well as after market or audiophile quality powerco...
Benefit of Tube Dampers/Coolers on 6H30?
Samhar, I'm reading your observations about the 6h30 tubes and the first question I have is what 6h30 tube did you listen to? As you should know, if you don't, there're several different versions of this tube. Have you heard all of the different 6...
Benefit of Tube Dampers/Coolers on 6H30?
I 2nd the Herbie's ultrasonic damping instruments ( these are the newer ones from herbie's) I use them on my ARC LS-25mkII. The difference is not huge but if you can hear, they do sound better than the naked tube.
Linn LP-12 still competitive with the very best?
Schipo, The last time I checked, we live in a free enterprise society(at least in the free world)What that means is you have the option to buy a product or not to buy! Linn is not putting a gun to anyone's head making them buy their turntable.Base...
Effects of Power Outages Where You Live
For what its worth, I have a Audio Resaerch CD-3mkII which does not have an on/off switch. Obviously Audio Research sees some merit in leaving digital equipment powered up all the time.
Effects of Power Outages Where You Live
I to have the power outage problem but I worry more about what damage it is doing to my system and components, than about the time it takes between being plugged and unplugged.Sometimes it will cut off and back on 2-3 times in a minute! That can't ...
What can you tell me ?
How can you talk about tube amps and not mention Audio Research? Unbeliveable.
Linn LP-12 still competitive with the very best?
Schipo, just listen to yourself. You talk about marching backwards in the 21st century when you were told sometime ago that analog (turntable) was old outdated technology.Digital is the way to go, the latest technology!!yet you are embracing that ...
Linn LP-12 still competitive with the very best?
Schipo, to answer your question about if it ain't broke don't fix it, its real simple. Linn has been selling thousands of turntables a year for over 30 yrs. using the same "obselete" design so obviously its competitive! Again, if it were not I'm f...
Linn LP-12 still competitive with the very best?
First, let start out by saying newer is not always better! In response to Schipo. Linn is still considered to be one of the better turntables around(according to most of the audiophile rags)and the reason that they haven't change their design philo...
Review: Fusion Audio Impulse/Enchanter Power cords Power cord
I also have the enchanter an impulse powercords and have found them to be very good for the money. However, in my experience, I found them to sound different depending on where they were in the audio chain. The enchanter for example was very good o...
what does everybody think about 120hz and lcd's
Shadorne, you put that plasma in a brightly lighted room(natural daylight)and you're right there's no contest, the LCD wins every time.
Decca Gold Garrott Bros. Microscanner
If the cartridge is a garrott decca,it is not as good as the regular decca gold.IMHO By that I mean the garrott was not as dynamic as the regular decca gold. It was smoother and a little quieter but a little too polite in comparison.Having said th...
How do you break in a preamp
Fire it up and let play!! That's the only sure fire way to break-in any component. After 100-150 hrs. it should be sufficiently broke-in.
