Wavac MD 300B Monoblocks
I'd agree with ThomasHeisig. Heard a couple of Wavacs today and yesterday and they had a beautiful presentation. Very serious amplifiers.
Ideal TT & Arm for the following top cartridges...
Cmt_cra,The Finish is certainly worth prioritizing. An exceptional cartridge by any standards. I disagree with your friend. I don't think its so much a question of 'wooden' tonearms or who distributes what. To my ear there is a natural synergy bet...
Canary CA-301MKII or Roque Tempest II
Of course the Canary is a power amp, while the rogue is an integrated. With the Rogue line your much better off with the Pre-power line up than the integrateds (and a Magnum 99 and Mag88 or 90 are excellent). I loved the Rogues and still do, but I...
tonearm cable recomendations for Brinkmann?
I tend to view tonarm cable as a seperate component in its own right, and its crucial to how much detail and music the analog system gives out. For copper, the Frank Schroeder fine loom is great. I also understand he is offering cyro'd Valhalla wh...
Airtangent vs Kuzma airline
Hi Frank, I fear I might have put words in Thomas' mouth, but i wish I'd been to Frankfurt to hear the 4 arms. I gather there was another interesting turntable demo with blind people doing the listening honors. Dgad, I had the Tron Seven in for a ...
Airtangent vs Kuzma airline
Actually, I did, at the Heathrow show. He said he preferred the Schroeder, and I believe he also said that was the general consensus at Munich when the table was played with 4 arms (not sure what cartridges).
Help me make the best arm-cartridge matches
I'm not that familiar with the S7, but it might be a good idea to get something fairly different. The S7 arm has fairly basic adjustments (non calibrated) so a Schroeder Ref. would be a good alternative, and keep it all clean looking. Alternativel...
Living Voice Mystic Mat Experiences
I've use both the Mystic Matt and the Boston. Of course both matts depend on what turntable etc., but on mk 80mm acrylic platter the MM is a distinct improvement in most areas, while I probably wouldn't use the Boston long term. On Garrards, both ...
Which would you choose to isolate your turntable?
Simon Yorke recommends a 1 ton block of granite, i assume on a concrete floor. if that's not practical, a wall shelf onto brick or loadbearing wall is excellent, and personally i'd prefer that to active isolation devices like the vibraplane. That ...
Jan Allaerts Cartridge Experience?
Sirspeedy I'm in a rush so cant give an extensive comment but I find the Allaerts MC2 Finish is truly an exceptional cartridge. Properly set up, and with a good phonostage (it wants 845ohms mostly) the results are thrilling and astounding. A remar...
Stepping up to Air Line Arm?
One can specify wall shelves that will support 160kilo plus, but of course its vital they are built into brick/stone walls or structures which are load bearing. I'm not sure what type of mass loading you're referring to that would be suitable for ...
Stepping up to Air Line Arm?
If its possible, really consider a wall shelf. As far as i'm concerned a shelf completely changes the whole analog picture. I'd much rather have a Kuzma Stabi S with a wall shelf (justlistening to one now - and its very good), than a Reference or ...
Stepping up to Air Line Arm?
The airline is certainly going to be a bit more high maintenance to keep in optimal condition over time. Filters need changing, water discharged and keeping the whole thing clean is vital. It will also make the odd blurp. They are both great turnt...
Comparison ZYX Artisan against Tom Evans Groove ?
The G+ imo is a big step forward from the original G. Yes of matching is important, but I'm also less than happy with a break in the signal path at such a crucial point to accomodate changes.
Comparison ZYX Artisan against Tom Evans Groove ?
Very interesting. If the G+ sounds broken, one possibility is that there may actually be something wrong with the uni. Needless to say your finding is quite unusual. Which cart. was the G+ set up for, and was it run in and warmed up? I have heard ...
