Galion TS120
@rajugsw thanks for your feedback. You're the only one in this thread who actually has hands on the amp. I was mainly concerned because of the posts on the Doge site and the seeming lack of full disclosure about the amp including whether the glare...
Beatles vs. Stones
I'm a Kinks fan from the British Invasion bands but between the 2, I would go Beatles all day and all of the night.
Galion TS120
@phillyb  and @tubeguy76  I can't tell whether what is on the Doge site is factual or not just by reading it. Certainly, the guy posting it has some hard feelings. I also thought it was very strange that Doge would air the "dirty laundry" whi...
Galion TS120
The post on the Doge page seems a little harsh. I have enjoyed Thomas' channel at times. Like I previously noted, the sound samples from the Galion were good and the other enticing thing about it is getting to choose between class A or AB.
The LRS+ Speakers
The LRS (original) was basically a gateway drug for me. It shows you a sound that is incomplete. You love it but want more. If you are new to planar speakers it is a fine, inexpensive introduction to this sound. However, you do need some power to ...
Just wow…
She sounds a bit like Elizabeth Fraser.
KEF's meta material gimmick?
There are lots of reviewers who had the original LS50s and then tried the LS50 Meta who found big or small differences so you could check them out.   I bought the LS50 Metas recently used and once I found a set up that really made them sing, I a...
Buying refurbished gear....
I buy most stuff used. There are some companies that have their own EBay stores and sell stuff refurbished at significant discounts from one fourth to one half off. You get the same warranties as you would if you bought new and generally you are e...
Totem Model 1 vs Totem Arro
I had been in touch with a company that sells Totem as I was interested in those speakers having heard the Totem Sky in a demonstration. They told me that Totem was coming out with a new speaker, the Bison in around the same price area for the boo...
Is R.E.M. underrated by new music nerds?
Reading the comments, I have no idea what the this thread is about other than bringing up 80s bands.  Going back to the OP, I have to make a few comments that I usually do about this subject matter. What people who are learning about new bands mi...
Are MULLARD NOS EL34s and LTA ZOTL40 REF worth the price of admission?
You can pick up the amp used. There is one on USAudio Mart now.  I bought mine used at a pretty decent discount. I'm seeing that the resale price of the LTA integrated amps is not that great probably because the company isn't know well. I can als...
Speaker of My House…!
I'd say go open baffle. There are some great Spatial Audio X3s (used but the seller is a great audiophile and has it in great shape) for sale on Audiocircle or USAudiomart for a great price. They image like crazy and are broken in.
