Moving on a sailboat - bookshelf speakers?
On second thought, considering the destructive nature of salt air, I’d go Bose cubes. :)
Moving on a sailboat - bookshelf speakers?
As for the KEF it is much deeper at 10.6” and rear ported so might not be ideal for true shelf use.

The Spendor Classic 4/5 is truly a great bookshelf friendly speaker. The cabinet is not ported and is only 6 1/4” deep. They might sound best on stands out in the room but actually sound very good tucked away on a shelf.
The "Very Best Record Cleaning Formulation"
One quart of distilled water, two drops of Dawn dish washing soap, and two drops of urine. It’s also good for cleaning your stylus.
Best Amplifier & Speakers combo?
To answer your question, 🙄, I would go for option #2. I doubt you would need the extra watts. Go for the better speakers. Just my opinion. :)
Why Do Cables Matter?
Before one can hear one must first learn to listen. 😎

Interconnects for Pass Labs X260.8
I would suggest continuing on with the AU24sx. Their neutrality and transparency always amaze me. I have not heard the Frontrow cables yet but have been told by friends that they do everything the AU24sx does but with even better clarity and trans...

Sibilance
My benchmark for this is Cowboy Junkies Trinity Sessions.  I’ve tried both an AT Art 9XI and a Koetsu Rosewood and a wide range of VTA setting with little change. I found changing cartridge loading helped the most.
Caveat about the Cable Company return policy
In more resent times I’ve purchased a lot of cables from these guys. I’ve always dealt with Jason who recently was promoted to president of the company. Jason rocks. Since then I’ve been dealing with Ethan and have zero complaints. These people ar...
Which SUT to match Koetsu Rosewood Standard in my system?
@rauliruegas , even if the Audionote Sorro had enough gain the fixed 47k loading will sound like poop with the Koetsu cartridge. I’m finding it most pleasing in the 50-100 ohm range in my system.
Which SUT to match Koetsu Rosewood Standard in my system?
Do you not like the Hagel? I’d try it first. At least that should give you an idea of how much gain you need.
Which SUT to match Koetsu Rosewood Standard in my system?
For about half what your budgeting you could get a Soundsmith MCP2 phono preamp which sounds great and features easily adjusted cartridge impedance loading. Koetsu recommends a range of 75-500 ohms. That’s a huge range and has an equally huge effe...
