what speakers do you consider "energetic"?
Horns. 100+ db efficiency with 100+ wpc amps. Highly energetic. :)
Why are speaker stands so expensive?!
I used to think Spendor's stands were just plain stupid expensive.  Until I tried them.  I was using some typical sand filled square column B&W's before.  I had no idea how really good the little Spendors were until I tried these.  The differe...
Amp vs Preamp which is more important?
Amps can sound pretty good without a preamp. Preamps don’t sound at all without a power amp. Headphones excepted. :)
Step Up Transformer
@fundsgon , you are right. I listen to both analog and digital. There are good digital productions and there are bad. Just like there are good analog recording and there are bad. My criticism of the new Revolver lp is because it doesn’t sound like...
Step Up Transformer
😂😂😂😂 ps: I bought that LP recently and don’t care for it. To me it sounds too much like a CD.
A Few Turntable Measurements using the RPM Android App
It’s obvious you don’t care :) Here’s a simple test of your theory. Center the phone as well as you can using simple measurements and run the test. Then move the phone obviously off center by about 25mm and rerun the test. I did and saw no differ...

It cost so little to try. Give it a spin. :) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f5dal0O-pXY6Gk-0PMd5HyMvyHk5XyyO/view?usp=drivesdk
A Few Turntable Measurements using the RPM Android App
Gosh. My iPhone weighs nothing compared to some record clamps I’ve used. And I’ll bet NASA wished they had accelerometers as accurate when they put men on the moon. :) Its just a fun app to play with. :)
High end speakers at low volume
Back in the day receivers normally had a “Loudness” button for boosting the bass at low listening levels. Don’t see that much anymore but it worked. At very low levels speakers with limited bass output to begin with will not sound very good. At th...
High end speakers at low volume
Right now I’m enjoying listening to Chopin’s Nocturne, Op 32: Number 2 in A-Flat Major at about 60db through my Klipsch Cornwalls. Beautiful. It’s all a matter of how quite the house is.
A Few Turntable Measurements using the RPM Android App
I’ve played around a bit with the IOS app. Interesting new use for the phone. I found that changing the oil in my spindle bearing and cleaning the belt on my Basis TT improved wow & flutter by 0.04%. :)
New Cartridge Causing Intermittent Popping
In the world of lp playback, as well as tubes,  there is never truly a happy end. Only that brief moment in time between changes when we are happy. :)
New Cartridge Causing Intermittent Popping
A simple test, put on a record and spin it up. Place the cartridge above the record but don’t lower it.  Let it spin for a while and see if it pops. Sounds crazy but what do you have to loose. :)
New Cartridge Causing Intermittent Popping
I’ve experienced this very issue on my Basis tt and after trying every thing possible I found it was just a slight loose ground wire causing the static buildup.
New Cartridge Causing Intermittent Popping
Sounds like static buildup. Double check the tables chassis ground.
