It sounds to me like you just don't love the Klipsch Heritage sound anymore.  I dont think you'll like the Hereseys either.  But, I'm just telling you my experience.  As much as I love my KEFs I have never been so surprised by a speaker as the JBL...

Long term Klipsch lover here and owned the La Scalas and I can agree with your assessment.  I never though I'd be ok with a non-horned speaker but, to my surprise, I bought a pair of KEF R900s and have loved every second of them.  They're so pleas...

I'm not a hugger, but I feel the OP needs a hug.  I hear you and I feel for you.Truth: as soon as I sit down, close my eyes, and press play, my wife will open her mouth and ask me a question, normally related to if I think food is spoiled or not. ...

Oh, and to echo people above.  The Klipsch Quartet or Forte are two of my favorite speakers ever and would blow the Elac out of the water in almost every way.  Find them used.  I sold two pair not long ago.

I'm a big Klipsch fan, but the Hereseys are probably some of my least favorites.  Unless you're looking for big horns, I would look at other Klipsch speakers that will go WAY deeper and sound less honky IMO.  If you're going for that big horn soun...
