Yet another call for more Sale catagories... I second these recommendations, particularly the phonostage and digital IC.
Considering full upgrade over next year You should start with the speakers. Any other approach is back-asswards in my opinion, though I've certainly been guilty myself.
Great soundstaging speakers = 2k Yeah, what was wrong with your previous choices?
EMM Labs DAC6 vs. latest version dCS Where can I find information on the DCC2? EMM Labs web site appears to be strictly for the professional products.
Belles 250i Those Xindak spec sheets are pretty amusing!
Sonus Faber Grand Piano vs. ProAc 2.5 Speakers I think you've answered your own question. Keep the Sonus Fabers but try them with both amps and see which you prefer.
Help -- my system is too bright Zaikesman, lack of brightness (which is dullness in my vocabularly) is frequently my complaint with the ProAc speakers I currently have. So there! Maybe I should get a Krell. :-) /dan
McIntosh and Thiels The 6900 has some tone control/equalization functions built in. Is there a chance they are engaged and are causing some of problems you hear? With Thiels, a lack of focus and too-soft highs is almost unimaginable.

Aleph 5 + Dunlavy 4 The Aleph amps are not bass champs whereas Krell is. And the Dunlavy may have less *apparent * bass than your PSBs. I also think you need more power than the Aleph 5 for your speakers, though you can certainly live with it for a while. It should b...
Anybody stop using power conditioning? Nto too bad at all.
Anybody stop using power conditioning? sounds expensive . . .
Anybody stop using power conditioning? Crazy4blues, in answer to your question, I got rid of the three conditioners for different reasons, some relating to sonics and some more to my comfort level with owning the product and having it in my system.I had one of the early Power Wedges an...
What's your latest "Discovery" Paul Curreri, "From Long Gones to Hawkmoth", on City Salvage Records (limited availability--I bought from a cool online record store in Oregon). I first heard him when he opened for Kelly Joe Phelps at a show I saw last year, and I was mighty impr... |
