Any merits of getting a Krell FPB 200 C with my existing KRC
I can only comment on the 300's and not the 200's.I own both the KSA300's and the FPB300. I use them in a biamped configuration with the PFB on top. I have compared them not in the bi-amped situation, and the FPB blows away the KSA. My preamp was ...
best sub- 1000 Transport, new or used
I'm not sure that the DVD transport might not be OK. EAD has been in the business a long time and has been improving on other designs for years. Thata discovered years ago the tremendous advantage of using a laser disc player as a CD transport. (I...
imaging and speaker placement with tv in center
It sounds as though your setup sounds great to you, so why mess with it.My room is 25X15 with large speakers (B&W800's). I originally set them up 5 ft from the back wall (using the "rule of thirds." My speakers are along the long wall, and abo...
Hales System II Signature
Yes, I am quite familiar with them. A close friend had them with the Muse 18. It was fantastic! Great imaging and excellent tone, soundstage, etc. They mated perfectly with the Muse. He had them in an all Krell system. At the time it was Krell MD1...
Sound proofing listening room
Acoustic ceiling panels will have a huge effect on the quality of the sound.Several companies make devices that suspend a standard sheetrock ceiling separating it from the studs by rubber insulation. This should help tremendously. This is a very go...
When you buy things online/phone order-Try to avoid...
For years, I have been buying and selling via mail or now via the internet and I have NEVER been burned, but I have a few rules: All deals are either COD cash/cashiers check or with VISA.Unless the deal is with a local person (eyeball to eyeball),...
monitor w/ bass?
It appears that you are looking for a very small monitor as you used the term "bookshelf". (Bookshelves are a terrible place for loudspeakers.) In my experience the two best small monitors are the Totem 1 or better yet the Red Rose Music M3. You w...
What is the cause of my sibilance problem?
I would first forget about anything that was eliminated by using the headphones, such as speakers, cables, room and room treatments. Then, if possible start swapping with other gear one-by-one with the ones that were not eliminated. It shouldn't t...
Help with speaker selection, please
I am opinionated!Since most music is mastered on B&W speakers, I usually recommend that if you are choosing between several speakers, try to always include B&W's in the possible choices. Since you like a wide variety of music, I would stay...

Krell hts 2 - very dissapointing
Dear Krell1,I am very surprised at your opinion of the FPB300. I too have the KSA300S and bought the FPB300 so that I can actively biamp my speakers. Before biamping, I switched amps and found the FPB bettered my KSA in many respects, most noteabl...
The best Subwoofer
The best blend (other than the Wilson WAMM with its subwoofer) that I have heard was the Muse 18 to augment the Hales Signature 2 (out of production now). The blend was PERFECT.
Anyone Hear the New Nautilus 800 Yet?
Craigza,Your response had NOTHING to do with the topic.
Speaker Hum Question
Start swithching things around, amps, interconnects, preamp channels, etc. You should be able to narrow it down to the culprit. Also, having a dedicated line will definitely improve all aspects of your playback. I am bi-amped and have 2 30amp lines...
